Just bought an E63

Just drove an E63 and bought it on the spot. Best sports sedan I've ever driven. Blows the M5 away. The 7-speed transmission is outstanding and the paddle shifters very fast. Simply an amazing vehicle. I highly recommend it.

IMOP. I tested drove the E63 three weeks ago don't like it. Power is great but no handling. Nice AMG interior. Great lease deal going on now. I got quoted for $5000 down and $1030 included CA tax. not bad for a $95K vehicle.

I drove one before buying my turbo and I really liked it. Coming from an 01 E55 It was an amazing improvement. But after I drove the E63, they let me drive an 05 E55 and that car was so much better than the E63, in my opinion. Other than the transmission and level of interior refinement in the 63, I really loved the brute power of the 55.

I had an e55. After you get over the initial acceleration high, you realize that the car is way too heavy. You can't pay me enough to buy another mercedes.

I hope the e63 is better, with regards to the handling and braking. Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks, the E63 is a great 4-door sedan. I don't believe there's anything better. Here's how it compares to an M5:

M5
HP

500
Torque
465
383
Weight

And the E63 interior is beautiful. Makes most cars look pretty amateur.

I had a brabus sl55 and thought the car was just soft. fast as hell but not a great feel to it, would think the e63 is the same way

The E63 is much improved (engine, suspension, stiffness, etc). It's also lighter than the sl55! Pretty amazing for a 2-door convertible vs. a 4-door sedan.

And AMG offers an E63 performance kit if you want to go 180+...

REAL transmission......M5........game over.

I just can't stand the thought of having so much power without the control over it a manual tranny offers.

Enjoy it, I'm sure its comfortable.

Try an E63 when you get a chance. The shifts are very fast with Sport mode or paddle shifters. Car & Driver liked it over the M5 SMG and manual. So do I.

Bill, congrats on the E63 and glad you like it. This post probably belongs in M-B section or OT though. No sense in trying to convince others it's wonderful b/c to some it is and to some it isn't.
