This is a great lens to have. I'm surprised that yours was made in Japan. Mine was made in Thailand and honestly comparing the quality of this lens with some of my others that were made in Japan, I can't tell the difference.

 

The original batch at launch were made in Japan and they transferred production to Thailand. Mine was from Japan and I sold it on ebay for $300 more than I paid for it. This is a great deal!

 

One of the issues I heard that the 18-200 had was creeping especially when set at 70mm and pointed downwards. I haven't had that issue with mine since I got it.

I'm just not using this lens, so no point for me to keep it.
