Hrmm considering you'll be able to get a 8GB 3G Iphone with GPS for 199 in about a month I think 325 is a bit steep.

Yeah, and considering you're going to be forced to activate the phones at the store now, people on other carriers are out of luck. I think if anything, it's just going to raise the desirability of the old iPhones.

 

yeah umm no. old iphones will be worth about $50 in another month put yours on ebay now and you'll still probably get $400 for it.

 

your forgetting the new iphone is also 3G, a huge improvement over the current network.

 

Old iPhones will be worth quite a bit for a long time - $50...are you joking? You can't even get an MDA for that. The 3G's will cost you a LOT more than 199...read the fine print

 

They have added an extra $10 on top of the old iPhone plan AND removed the SMS starter package. Thats basically $15 a month for two years = an extra 360 dollars.

Plus, the 3G iPhone won't be unlockable, and there will be no way to get them without a plan, so its effectively locked out of use on another carrier.

The iPhone will still be worth 350-400 to someone who is stuck on another carrier.

 

3G phone will be unlockable as any Iphone out there.

Guys stop haggling this guy on the price....

I sold my 8g iPhone about a week ago on CL for $320 cash. Just cuz the new phone is coming out cheaper does not mean everyone wants it.

For example the lady who bought mine lives out in Santa Cruz which according to her does not offer 3G service so she did not want to pay the extra $10 bucks per month plus she needed the phone ASAP.

A lot of people still want the older iPhone because they broke theirs and Apple is not selling them anymore. You figure most people are paying $70-100 monthly for the phone so for every monthy with no phone, you're out $100 bucks.

I will be getting mine on release date as well. 16G - I had the old 8G but sold it before opening the box because it wasn't 3G. I get a free phone from a friend at ATT every year. She is also getting me a BB BOLD. I am demanding and glad she owes me
