I know Gil comes highly recommended here. I will be buying a watch from him very soon, and would be sending him a wire transfer. Just for added security, can you guys who have dealt with him give me your experiences. He seems like a great guy, but personal experiences would surely help out.

Thanks a lot in advance for your responses.

I have a feeling you're going to be overwhelmed with positive responses. Sounds like he's the guy to go to for a fine watch.

I am currently in the middle of a transaction with Gil on a JLC, and so far I have been satisfied. He has been responsive to all my calls, emails and inquiries...very direct and to the point on transactions. Btw, be careful when asking for references (inside joke that Gil will understand )

Only criticism I have is that it's taking forever to get the watch in but that seems to be more on the part of JLC. Hopefully, Gil will have that watch in my possession very soon considering it is something I got for myself as a graduation gift from grad school.

Overall, he seems to be a very standup guy that I would do business with again, and I think you will be pleased!

Sincerely...Rob

Rob,

It is on national backorder with JLC. Expected really soon. The watch he wants to buy is in stock.

He wouldn't have lasted a second on here if he weren't solid as a bank. Gil has been selling watches elsewhere for quite a while and can be thoroughly trusted.

Careful of the taxes and duties when bringing it in - they can be as much as 40%.

That's what I am a bit weary about. GOD DAMN CCRA!

But would'nt I just pay the 15% tax if I bring it and declare it personally thru YYZ?

If you fly to LGA and pick it up, just wear it home. If you are fed-exing, pm me and I'll give you some info.

I recommended to him to fly in, meet me at the airport and wear it home. I'll ship the box and papers when he's back in Canada.

I am working a deal right now with Gil and he has been upfront, honest and helpful to me. He will give you sound advice even if he can't get what you want and you need to shop elsewhere. He puts his reputation before making a few dollars...

I have bought from him, traded with him, and have sold to him. Things couldn't have gone better. He is certainly trustworthy, honest, and a gentleman.

Best of luck!

Thank you Tom and Bill. Bill, call me when you know what you want to do on that piece, one way or another. Tom, I will be in touch with you this coming week to settle everything.

i've bought and sold with him 8-10 times already, some 5-figure transactions and all are smooth as silk. Gil is the man!
