FS: Two Canon HV10 HD Camcorders

I have two Canon HV10's up for grabs. Full specs and info here.

Cliff notes: These are the smallest HDV cameras available currently that shoot in 1080i. They're also the only consumer camera on the market to use real optical image stabilization of the lens, rather than a drop frame digital method. They record amazing detail and clarity for such a small camera.

I purchased these brand new less than a month ago for $950 each, for use on a film project in which I needed a very small HD camera to hide in scenery and set pieces for generally impossible shots. Project is done, and I have a pile of other cameras, and hence don't need these guys anymore. So, I figured I'd stick them here before they go on ebay.

Each camera also includes:

1 set of three tiffen lens filters (polarizer, uv, "warm") valued at around $100.
1 1600ma long life battery, good for ~3 hours of record time. Were around $50.
2 HDV tapes, used once and blanked.

In addition to the factory slim battery, remote, all cabling, original boxes, software, unfilled warranty cards, etc, etc.

I'm asking $800 + shipping of your choice for each. I can accept Visa/MC/Discover cards.

Also, an extra $20 gets you an AC/DC (w/ car adapter) quick charger. I only have one of these.

Cams go on ebay at the end of the week, so act fast if interested.

Yes, there are, and they're being sold by the usual ripoff camera shops in Brooklyn that will either upsell you to retail ($999) with all kinds of extras like the battery which comes with the camera, or will happily cancel your order.

The lowest price you can get the cameras from new from a reputable source that isn't trying to rip you off is $899 at B&H or Tiger Direct.

Can I ask how they worked for you? I'm reading different reviews, both negative and positive, all over the Internet. The biggest problem people seem to be complaining about is the microphone and how it picks up tape & wind noise. Thanks.

Mark,

I am pretty sure it uses the same amount of data for 1080i HD as standard definition DV data, around 19 mbits/sec, or 2.375 megabytes per second.

Worked fine. I don't use camera audio for anything, but for your day to day videos it's perfectly acceptable sound.

10 minutes of HDV 1080i60 w/ timecode is around 2GB uncompressed.

I bought one of these last September or so for nearly $1200 or so

I still HAVE NOT had the oppurtunity to use it

It is worth it in my opinion however as good memories that will last a lifetime (and look good while doing so) are priceless
