(2) 8GB CF2 - Compact Flash 2 Cards - Seagate

On a whim (thanks Joe) I decided to pickup 2 4GB Seagate CF2 cards because there was a special online. I get the cards and find out that the firmware version works poorly with my camera (20D) - read a few reviews in which the drive was slow. I returned both back to Seagate to get the firmware upgrade and voila, they gave me 2 8GB's back with the latest firmware.

These are CF2 format (slightly thicker than standard CF cards, make sure you check your compatibility if you're interested)

Regardless, the drives are way too slow for what I shoot (I usually shoot with Ultra II's from Sandisk) - again, I bought these on a whim. LOL. If you just shoot stationary stuff and don't shoot a lot of bursts, these are solid cards for the money.

$60 shipped for the pair anywhere in the US.

TIA!

I currently use a CF Extreme III 1gb Sandisk for my Canon eos 350d (Rebel XT). would this card work in cam?

Joe's got a digital rebel and they work great in his camera. FW 3.02 is the version needed for support on Canon's. If you're in SoCal you're welcome to try it out on your camera.

thanks bumble996. Shipped as expected. Got them last week but didn't get a chance to post.
These worked on my pc and card reader, but for some reason I can't format or use these on my 1D mkII. I was reading that there might be some firmware issue on the 1D and these microdrive. Hopefully Canon'll come out with a fix!
