New here, quick question for you guys

Hey all. I actually posted this in the general 996 section and they pointed me this way.

Just a quick intro, my name is Danny and I'm 25 years old. I'm seriously looking into purchasing a new (to me) car within the next month or two and am considering a 99-01 Carrera or e46 M3. I've been reading the M3 forums and this forum pretty thoroughly and thank you all for all the good info I've found here already.

I live in Tyson's Corner and was wondering where a good place was to get a PPI done. Is the HBL dealership good or are there any good indie shops that may do a better job or be cheaper? Also, being that I am somewhat mechanically inclined, is there a list of basic stuff I should look over before even taking the car to get a PPI?

Thanks in advance guys!

You could take it to HBL, Tischer in MD, or Porsche of Arlington. For indie shops you could give Intersport a call in Tysons. They do porsche warranty/service work, as well as aftermarket.

I echo Maxwell here and recommend Intersport. They work on several members cars as well as PCA Cup Cars.....and are located right down the street from HBL in Tysons.

Thanks for the input guys. I actually live right next to Tyson's so that should be convenient.

About how much should I expect to pay for a PPI? Thanks again.

I think Intersport offers the most competitive rates around for PPI's. Talk to Omar and tell him that Berk sent you....

Well the c4 I was looking at sold before I had a chance to take it for a PPI. Thanks for the advice though, next time I find something worth looking at, I'll definitely give Intersport a call.

What price range are you looking at?

I'm looking on the very low end. the C4 I was looking at was an '01 with 63K. Had the aero-kit and pretty well optioned for $29k. It was a great deal but I was a step late... oh well.

Rather than start a new thread I'll piggyback this one. I need a recommendation for a BMW PPI in Montgomery. Thanks.
