So i had a meeting in McLean today, and after having the car on the lift for about two weeks, I figured it should be time to drive it... So I had zero issues with the car mechanically. However, I don't drive this car on the street that much anymore, other than around town in Fredericksburg or Culpeper area.

So I'm on the GW parkway, heading towards the Pentagon and some guy pulls up beside me with his cell phone camera and he starts taking pics... So I let him take his pics and then I accelerate away.

I'm getting the same thing four different times on the ride home down I 395 and I95. Couple that with the idiots that wanted to "race"... That was a bit annoying... However, it was good to get in the car and drive it again...

No way I'd use this thing as a regular daily "commutor"... To much attention for sure...

Somewhat OT, I like Culpeper - kind of like Leesburg except farther away. Plenty of home for the money.

I would think a TT would be fairly rare there?

 

I live 15 minutes outside the city of Fredericksburg and 20-25 minutes from Culpeper. There's one other 996TT, A yellow one, that roams around once in a blue moon. I get a little bit of attention when driving it locally, but nothing like I experienced on Thursday going up north.

Anyone looking to live out in the country, I have a very good friend who's also a porsche owner (Jim McNemar - MacGT3 on rennlist) Who has 6 new homes he built that are available at very attractive prices right now... THey're all on some nice large (1-3 acres) lots with two car garages, and very well appointed.

TT doesnt usually draw any attention up here. There's so much $$ and nice cars in NOVA/DC the tt is pretty regular. You will get the kid in the hopped up audi/bmw trying to race you for sure.
