Guys,

Seeing that driving long distances is what many of us like to do, not just having a coffee in one place, I'm working on a Charity Rally (much like the one we did for the ASPCA 2 years ago) in conjunction w/ some folks to Atlantic City from Tysons Corner. The event obviously would not be free (it would be a donation to the specified cause), but will work with vendors to help provide some food/drink for everyone as well. I will work out the details and share them with everyone but wanted to get a gauge as to the interest before investing any time and money on my part.

Here's what I'm thinking for starters but all is subject to change of course:

• I'm thinking $100 per person (tax deductible BTW - the last time I did this, I provided everyone's names, addresses and phone numbers to the ASPCA when submitting the money on our behalf) and FULL DISCLOSURE that the proceeds will go to the charity.
• Leave Tysons Corner or Washington DC (I'll find a stellar meeting spot for video/photo shoot before we leave) in the mid to late morning to head up to AC with a stop somewhere along the way
• Once arriving at AC, I hope to have gained us "SPECIAL PARKING PRIVILEGES" at the venue in Atlantic City and enjoy a fun filled day
• Everyone is free to leave whenever they want, hang in the casino, or I can work on getting us a "SPECIAL ROOM RATE DISCOUNT" for those who want to stay

BTW - I want to extend this invitation as well to folks to bring their significant others if interested!!!!

MOST importantly guys, this is "FOR A GREAT CAUSE". What I would add to the event (t-shirts, stickers, food, drink @ a discount at least, etc etc) would be additional and the above mentioned would be at a minimum.

Cars, rally and AC? I am all over this. I just hope this is not done when it is cold.

 

I could do this. The Times Square rally wasn't my cup of tea, but this would be fun.
