If I recall correctly, Ivan from IMA Motorsport will be going. I'm hoping that my car will also be done by this weekend to attend this meet as well.
I'll call Ivan tomorrow and see if he's still planning on going to this meet.

Just talked to Ivan this morning and he will be definitely going. He said he will be leaving on Friday night after work and I'm not sure what I will be doing, yet.

I was thinking about taking my daughter with me, but wifey isn't too excited about the idea If you do really need a ride, I can take you up there. By the way, my 07 GT3 is getting the TT treatment from Ivan and this will be the first time driving this thing since late January of this year! I think the car won't be 100% tuned by then, so I'm not sure what to expect. It will still be fun drive up to PA

Let me know. My email is spaik001@gmail.com and we can make arrangements.

Travis,

It was great having you as a passenger.
I wish you the best luck finding yourself a nice 912. By the way, thanks for all the cool info on classic porsches

Once I get my car 100% tuned, I'll definitely let you know. Sorry I had to let the old school Mustang pass me

Let me know if you will be going to any of the cool meets.

I really wish I could have gone to this. We had to go out of town over the last week due to my Grandfather passing away. We just returned from FL so heading right back out on the road wasn't something I was ready to do.

Travis, I will touch base with you some time soon. I would like to hear about your London trip.

Hey Seung,

The pleasure was all mine. How often does one get to ride in a twin turbo GT3? I fully expect a ride once Ivan gets done tinkering with the tune. You were more than gracious to drive me all that way. I hope the wife wasn't too displeased!

I'll post on here if I actually acquire a 912 but I am so picky.

Hi. Seung told me about your search for a 912. May I ask why a 912?

I wanted a classic but was not fond of the 914. The 356 is a nice ride however quickly climbs out of good driver price range. The 912 has a unique history for Porsche. The car was only made for 5 years and utilized the brand new Porsche 911 body with a 356 engine. The engine is obviously a 4 cylinder and is a little easier to work on by myself than the 6 cylinder and consequently a little less expensive to maintain. The handling and styling is all 911 but with a great air cooled engine that provides great performance and gas mileage.

Porsche developed the 912 in response to 356 owners complaints of the astronomically expensive (at the time) cost of the 911 compared to the 356. They also liked the simplicity of the 356 engine. Porsche's solution was to mate a 356 SC engine to a 911 body for a cheaper price than the 911 offered during the same time. The 912 actually helped keep the company afloat during the transition period and outsold the 911 considerably during those years.

The particular one I picked up is a 5 speed transmission (optional) with a sunroof (rare) and fog lights, corduroy sport seats and Blaupunkt radio (still in car). I am the 3rd owner of the car. The car was delivered at the factory and is supposedly the last 912 at the factory. Porsche stopped making the cars in 1969 and this car shows delivery at the factory the day the factory closed for retooling. It's a cool car with a fully documented history and lots of character in an Ossi Blue color.

Good choice. They are hard to find. Glad you found what you are looking for. When you get your car, we should hook up. I will bring my yellow car. Al

Seung,

Thanks. It was nice to meet you too. Did you notice how I almost didn't answer your question about the cost of my clear film install with my wife standing next to me ? I don't think it registered. She still has no clue how much I paid for the RS. If you have not started the track thing yet, you need to start. My next event is the Schattenbaum Summit Main event on May 15-16. Maybe you can come check it out.
