Working w/ MAMC to rent Summit Point
Gentlemen (and Ladies),
I'm working through MAMC and a few folks at Summit Point to rent a track during a week day. It may be as soon as the remainder of the year at some point in 2010, but most likely will be at some point in 2011. The purpose of this is to gauge interest from folks on the board as to whether they are interested and whether I should pursue gauging the interest. Here's the thoughts/details:
Are you guys willing to:
Right now, I'd like to gauge the interest. I think a start of 20 cars would be a good start. Don't post up for friends unless you are 100% positive they'd be willing to spend at least $400 for everything. I know I would pay $400 b/c I want to have more time on the track. This will be conducted in a structured manner, so it's not just open and chaotic.
Let me know guys as soon as you can while I'm talking to Summit. I'm also open to vendors coming by and helping with the coordination including your own company if you want.
Thanks.

Are you guys willing to:
- Rent/Attend the track on a week day (probably Monday - Thursday)
- Willing to pay little more than a typical DE/FATT would cost ($400/car for the day approximately - price will be explained below)
- I'm open to making this a family event where significant others, friends and our children can even attend and provide them as well with some form of entertainment. All in all, a fun filled day for everyone.
- Limit to 20-30 cars (pre-approved drivers), preferrably we all know each other to some degree and have confidence that each of us can conduct ourselves in a respectful and controlled manner on the track. Hence the higher cost, due to the fact that typical FATT events cost about $250, but there would be four heats of four groups so like 80 cars at the event. This is almost cut in half to a third so we'd have to make up for the cost of renting the track and the benefit is we would have MUCH MORE TIME on the track. We would also have a chief instructor and can review what we're experiencing and help each other out in some way to guide us better on the track. Great way to exchange ideas and techniques.
- The cost would include the rental of the track, corner workers, ambulance, wrecker service and if necessary, additional insurance (I'm going to figure out the details further on this and will share with everyone as well to make sure we are COMPLETELY covered). SAFETY FIRST FOR EVERYONE IS MY PRIMARY CONCERN.
- The event would be catered. Food and non-Alcoholic Drink (kind of like what Ferrari Club does and Aston club from my understanding).
