retro Italians?
With all of the Aventador bashing....I've been wondering if the Italians would ever consider doing a retro production car. There seems to be some interest given how we all lust after the older styles...thoughts?

The Miura is one of my all time fav cars. Up there next to a Singer 911.

Good lord, talk about rare Lambos. Brand new Aventador followed by a Bicolore, Spyder Performante, and 1 of 150 Super Trofeo Stradale. That's insane.
The spyder is just nuts, gotta have one.

^^^^ I know Ferrari/Lambo of Washington has brought cars up there before, maybe they planned the line-up as such... several dealers bring cars to Katies, ofent times new or rare models, I know Fisker, Aston Martin, Ferrari/Lambo of Washington, HBL Porsche and others have done the same.
I am pretty sure most of those Lamborghinis coming to Katies and as well those around FoW dealership belong to VWNoAmer HQ. I think I even saw one of the main Lamborghini NoAmer guys in one of the pics from last week.
Funny thing is the ones they make fewer of than they can sell (i.e. Ferraris) they don't promote them as fervently. I mean Lamborghinis; you can walk into a dealer, write a check and drive away in a new car. No order, no wait, no nothing.... unless you have to have something specific. Aventadors will be the same way, just give production a few minutes to catch up. What else are they going to do with them? Answer = Drive them around and go hang out at coffee shops LOL.
As for Aventador..... me.... I like it so so but not something I'm in love with looks wise. It has some very cool technology in it.... but overall and sm. things like the octagonal shaped gas flap.... just trying a little too hard IMO. As for all the follow-on after follow-on Gallardo special editions I think it’s pretty lame. The Balboni was supposed to be the end all say all 250 limited prod. etc. for the Gallardo and then they're like "oh sh-t.... we still have all these cars... what should we do??.... just call them car "X', "y" and "z". Weak. Love the cars, but weak as far as credibility and overall brand equity IMO. Friend bought a Balboni, black one w/ white & gold stripe, bad a-s.... but now it’s like lost in the sauce of special ed.s.
That Mulsanne the other week was from dealer. I saw sales guy in picture. Mulsanne is insane car. Love them. Looking at it next to the Rolls Ghost (uhhhhum trumped up 7 Series) costing pretty much the same is enough to make you laugh. Not counting $ factors I'd have a tuff time choosing b/w Mulsanne and Phantom and they aren't even in same ballpark price. I know the Lotus guy from Euro brings stuff up to Katies too regularly.... he needs all the exposure he can get.
From what I've heard I don't think any of them have had any slam-dunk sales made at C&Cs. But you never know, might generate interest that gets people to dealership. I know most of the Bentley / RRs guys.... they wouldn't get up out of bed to go try and sell cars at Katies. Their typical clients are from a whole different stratosphere of varied typologies, most of them not really "car people" - not ones that would get up at 6AM on a Sat to go look at cars anyway.

Dude, if I had the dough and was present when that group of Lambos drove up, I would have written a check on the spot for the Spyder Performante.
I do sort of agree though. Lambos are rare and exclusive enough as it is, no real need to do a ton of 'special edition models'. I mean it's cool that they keep making the car lighter and more powerful, but just do that every model year and then maybe throw in a 'race-type' version every year. Reminds me of the 40000 types of mustang special editions out there haha.
Agreed. agreed. not agreed (I LOVE the styling of the Ave...although I think they didn't take it far enough)...agreed (waaaaaaaay too many gallardo SEs). agreed. agreed.
