2013 EuroSportDC - June 9th - WashDC Exotics Tour
I guess the fact that no one has posted about it means no one went, or that it wasn't worth reporting back about.
I do know attendance was a lot less than last year and that some people got turned away who shouldn't have been.
I also know that after hearing and reading that the drive would be dedicated to the memory of Michael V that there was not one mention of him or his contribution to the area's car community. That was sorely disappointing.
The organization was about on par with previous years.
The drive covered some nice roads. Some unsafe driving.
The ending venue was not quite what I had pictured through Eurosport's initial description, but it was some old jets and you could climb in one. The airport/museum had some volunteers out.
If I do this again next year I think I'll hang to the back or just strike out with a group of 4-5 cars and drive the route on our own using the directions. It's too big a group to keep together and a few reckless folks aren't worth the risk, and that's coming from someone who likes to push it a bit.

We were a smaller event as we planned it to be. Last year's 175 cars was hard to manage, so we limited it to 130. We were at 125 cars. Not bad for a day that forecasted rain. In fact, it rained in Seneca Creek State about an hour after we departed from there. We lucked out big time.
We had a greater mix of cars from Lamborghinis to the new Jaguar. We had more Italian exotics than last year and more Lotus. Porsche also came out in force.
The jets on display were vintage. Mostly Vietnam and Korean area. We had planned on having A10's to be there as they are on the base. But, the gov't budget cuts limited operation and our scheduled weekend got budget cut. We would have had flyovers, but the penny counters killed it.
We were pleased with the event. Valentino had a great time and is planning on returning again next year. We are alway learning, so we are open to comments.
For everyone who attended, we appreciated your support and we look forward to next year.
