Any one else have the dealer try & charge WAY WAY to much for any add ons? They did install the floor mats for free!.

So far I'm really happy with it! Does anyone know if they make the door trim in carbon fiber to match my dash?

Yea, I bet! We went rounds on the shift ****. It's a $130 part, with install it was $299!!!! The "hook up" price was $199. I donwloaded the MINI USA install PDF, it stated for both the shifter/boot combo & ebrake it's .22 hr's!!! HOW IN THE HELL CAN THEY CHARGE $70 for that?

It took me longer to open the box & take it out, then to install it!!

lets just say, once my warranty work is done, they will never see me! They also would not discount any of the JCW parts! I should have told them to keep it all, & got the stuff on line for $35% less.

But at least we got the exact car we wanted, & so far it's great!

let me give you my entirely different dealership/service story......the SA and techs at my local dealership are AWESOME. i have a pretty heavily modded car that i track as often as possible. they take great care of my needs. twice, i split intercooler boots while on the track. the first time, they replaced it w/ an oem part....no charge. the second time, they installed my Alta silicone boot at no charge. they replaced my stock rear pads (track abused, before i went to track specific pads) at 7k miles at no charge. a friend developed a transmission problem while on the track at daytona. problem fixed at no charge. they know that we are modding these cars and abusing them on the track as often as possible, but continue to support us. from whom do you think that we will buy our next cars? sound business. i pay for shorter than normal oil change intervals and brake fluid replacement. it works for me.

That's a really nicely equipped Mini! Have fun with yours! I honestly don't miss my Porsches now that my R53 is in the garage.

What? You prefer the Mini to a Porsche? What did you have a 928, or 924? The Mini is a great car, but it's NO 911!

Former cars were:

997S
996TT
(x3) 996

Mini fits my current life. I need to save some $$$. Son's making me proud, headed to a great college.

I don't need a lot of HP or status for my 12 mile commute.

John
