Exhaust Options?

Just placed the order today for my new MINI. Want to look into exhaust options.

What are the options? Anyone have links to sound clips?

Thanks!

Congrats man, where did you order?

Alta makes a turbo-back. They also offer a plug and play ECU with pretty good gains.

Nice! Thanks for the links! I will look into them in a bit.

I put in the order this morning and the dealer said it should be pulled into production today or tomorrow and should be HERE in 4 WEEKS! I'm excited!

Fast build. You'll use it as DD?

yes. Will be a fun little daily driver. With gas prices what they are, I think this will fit the job perfectly.

Basically you have to decide what you want to accomplish. If it is sound only, then a less expensive Cat-back system will work fine.

Alta is perhaps the most recognizable name in Mini mods, but it is by no means the only. Some people would also say it is far from the best.

You might also consider, in no particular order:
Milltek, Borla, Way Motor Works, Invidia, Meisterschaft, and a semi-custom Magnaflow setup - the least expensive way to go. Most of these are $600-$900, except for the magnaflow which will cost about $300.

If you want any kind of performance gains, you MUST go with a turbo-back exhaust that includes new high-flow cats. The options here are: Alta, Way Motor Works, Exhaust Depot (florida - possibly the best sounding system), Revolution Mini Works (in development). These all cost $1600-$1800, except for Exhaust Depot, which costs about $800.

For my money, Exhaust Depot can't be beat!

I personally like the Borla Street exhaust... Go to youtube and search for Mini Cooper Exhaust.. you'll get a ton of hits back...

good luck.
