Thoughts on the Alta Pulley upgrade

I am looking at the various pulley upgrades available for the MCS and wanted to know what other's experiences have been with the Alta pulley. I understand it is not a press fit, it is actually a two piece pulley that relies on the expansion of the first piece upon tightening of the second piece. It also has an alignment mechanism (stop) built in.
Thoughts???

Thumbs up

Have had this installed on my Minibeast since April. Solid unit and works well. Well worth the cost and bang for buck is one of the best of the upgrades I've done so far. No problems with reliabilty. 4 driving schools and 2 races so far.

Minibeast,
Did you rent the tool to remove the old pulley? How difficult is the installation? I read about jacking up the engine to access the pulley.

We actually had one and broke it. Waiting on replacement now. Tried cutting the pulley off of one car. 3 hours later we agreed that is not the best method for removal!
Randy from Webb Motorsports is were we get our tool from. He rents as well as sells the units.

I assume you have to unbolt cerain engine mounts and other associated stuff just so you can jack the engine far enough up. Is all of that a difficult endeavor?
Your signature says you are a board sponsor. Which one?

The engine lift method is really not that hard. After the first one it gets really quick. It turns out to be no more difficult than removing the front bumper once you know where all the bolts are.

Are you saying the bumper cover needs to come off to do the pulley?

No, the bumper cover does not have to come off. Just trying to relay the difficulty in removing the engine bolts. It's very simple if you follow Randy's (Webb Motorsports) directions.
