Hey guys, I've recently been looking into getting a mini cooper S mt.

I'am going to completley repaint it, turbo/sc it, (not sure which yet) any insight would be good..

However, I came upon some stats today that say the S only makes 186hp I beleive?

Now, if I were to say turbo/sc this, and it being so light 2600lbs? could it be a potential killer on the street even though it won't have gobs of power? (I'm thinking with a car this light, I won't need 1000hp lol)

And what kits are available right now for f/i with it?

650hp in FWD! The amount of torque steer must be scary!

 

I'm in the same boat as you. I want a Cooper S and I want to do some work to it.

 

It;s diffucult, I was looking up turbo's for it, and they have one for 4k but it only produces 365hp.

 

I'm thinking of picking up an '03 MCS with 36k miles that's fully loaded...u guys think $13k is too much?

I'm sorry if I'm getting u guys turned down but in reality its not easy to turn a Mini into a monster. I'm not saying it can't be done but you need lots of time and $$$$ in order to do so. The main issue you have to consider before installing a big turbo kit on a MCS is the amount of traction you will have, you will either burn the crap out of your front tires with the ESP off or you won't go anywhere with the ESP on. Unless if you can turn the monster into a 4WD than you can increase as much hp as you want, otherwise don't waste the money, you will be much happier with a Subaru STI for a similar price.

 

There are still some Alta twurbo kits floating around that uses the S supercharger and the Alta Turbo Kit. check northamericanmotoring marketplace , motoring underground, motoring alliance. would be amazing.

 

It was never converted to AWD sorry. It was a FWD Drag car for years. Now it is a Super Mod FWD class Redline Time Attack Car
