Any idea if and when the AWD platform will be out?

I doubt they will come out with an AWD version... It would add a lot of weight and be pointless in that little car.

Actually it doesn't add that much weight, Getrag had developed a system on the old R53 that was faster than the manual around the track, BMW was looking into it's application. I'm *hoping* that once the clubman is released and the R56 has settled down we can hopefully see an AWD version released, maybe mid to late '08, perhaps even equipped with BMW's upcoming DSG based tranny. It depends where they slot the importance of that upgrade and the development of the upcoming colorado.
