Finally pulled the trigger ...
I have been sporadically looking for a Cayman for about 2 years now, and finally located what I think is the right one. (Having bought it, it had better be.) It's a 2010 in Aqua Blue with a full red leather interior and sports bucket seats. The seats are critical, as I have found with my height, sports buckets are the only ones I feel comfortable in. An added bonus with this car is its mileage - just shy of 3700 miles. The car has been shipped to CA via Angels Moving Autos, who were the only transporters that said they could do the job before the Christmas and New Year's holidays. I called them on a Monday, and they got the car from South Dakota - where several carriers said they wouldn't even consider going to, now or any other time of the year, as they weren't licensed there - to San Diego by early Friday afternoon. Thanks, Angels! Photos to follow once I am back home after a visit with my son and his family over New Year's.

Thanks! I am delighted with the car. And I can't say enough about Angels Moving Autos. They were the only people who explained that moving a car from South Dakota to San Diego could only be accomplished by two separate runs - one from Rapid City to Denver, and the other from Denver to San Diego. They lined them up quickly, and the truckers were aces. I will use these people again.
Have been enjoying the car on a variety of southern California roads. What a terrific and fun machine! People who have seen the car are divided on the wheels - most are initially surprised but like them after a few moments of thought. Or maybe they think they'll be insulting me to say they look like $#!+. Bottom line, for now, is - wheels are expensive, and I can't afford replacements any time soon. So red they will remain, at least for now.
After some looking, a set of 18" Cayman S wheels popped up with some Bridgestone Potenza tires attached for a decent price, delivered to my door. Now that they're on the car, it's apparent to me that the silver 5-spokes are a great improvement aesthetically.
Thank you. I think so as well. Now there remains the side stripe ... but since its removal could damage the paint, it will be staying. A small penalty for not being the original owner of the car, outweighed by the discount off the sticker for an almost new car!
