I've given your IGNORANT comments some thought...

I've owned Nissans for 22+ years and driven them on road courses, and clocked 10.98 at 129+mph... I've bled Nissan for a long time, and written for Nissan magazines and waved the flag of the rising sun...

I'm fine with the fact that Nissan WILL fix this issue. I'm not fine with some ******* like you calling me out. I've done a LOT for the nissan inthusiast, by building one-off parts by hand for DATSUN enthusiasts, who appreciated my efforts.

I'll suffer their grief, but not yours, Asshat.

For a person that hates the GTR so much, you sure do spend a lot of time in the GTR section. Seriously, move on...

The GT-R has been owned/driven by the Japanese market for almost a year now, yet we haven't heard of these tranny issues in Japan spread all over the internet world like wildfire.

Ive also read that Chevrolet has stopped production of the ZR-1. I think these production halts are reflections of inflation and the economy, and not because of poor production issues.

A proud GT-R owner!!!
Fanbois were bragging how this car is unbreakable, how Nissan over engineered the parts blah blah blah. Guess whose coughing up their hard earned $$$$ to repair the $20k transmission?

The Japanese are very proud of the GTR its their hero car, I doubt they would want it to fail. Even then the tuning houses readily admits that the GTR cant handle too much power because of transmission weaknesses.

Also Japan can only go something like 111mph and has the extra nanny on public roads etc.

GM has been trying their hardest to clear up the air regarding the ZR1 production. GM has not canceled the ZR1 production.

Simmer down e-thug. Reading comprehension isn't your strongpoint, is it? You're a nothing but comical.
Re-read my post again...where did I mention ANYTHING about you not liking Nissan or question your knowledge about japanese cars? Can't find it, can you???
I simply pointed out your silly hatred for the GTR...that's it. And you go as far as PM'ing me with a threat...HAHAHAHAHA
Like I said, you are nothing but comical to me.

The GTR is a superb car that makes driving fast easier than it has ever been before. Transmision weakness, brake service costs, and complexity that may lead to problems off warranty are the issues I see with the car.

The tranny should be fixable, at a huge price to Nissan....for a halo car, that tranny is an embarassment, pure and simple. That is reason alone why I won't buy a GTR until it is changed/fixed. Period. Call me a wimp.

The brake issues are probably a non-issue if they don't void your warranty for going 3rd party.

The computers....they are an unknown. My PCM1 went up in my 996TT...put a pioneer unit in. Not sure if that dash in the GTR (or any new car really, porsches included) will allow swaps in the future. Something for everyone to consider.....say your R8's computer/monitor dies in 5.1 years....wonder what that price will be.....probably 3-8k.

Mike is a huge Nissan fan. I am dissapointed in the GTR's transmission, the cost of running it (higher than a 996 it seems) and the way I was treated at my local dealer....I showed up in my beater and they treated me poorly. Could happen at any dealer I suppose..P car included. Sad statement of the times.

The million dollar question is this....does the GTR take the fun out of driving. Many good drivers have said it is too good at making driving easier at the edge....so perhaps. That is something only the most expert driver will experience...well beyond the average board poster who lacks track time.....

Let's hope the suspension is to fix the tranny. That would be logical.

I did NOT threaten you. I said we're both in Va, and both probably geographically located close by each other... If you wanted to CHAT about the GT-R or other car related things, face to face... Hell I'd even buy you a beer.

Internet thug? Please...

The GTR is the ultimate bait and switch. Show the world a one off that is capable with all sorts of upgrades and sell the world something else. Oldest trick in the book! Most of us saw right through the BS.
This is a class action law suit waiting to happen.
If its too good to be true it probably is. The truth is there will be 40K GTR's on the market a year from now!

Nissan will make the fixes required... It will likely be an amazing car in two years... Will it still be what they've painted it as in the press/advertising? Who knows...

Yeah this sucks. I've experienced this many times. Really a sad statement of the times. I'm a huge fan of the GTR however trying to buy the car has been the WORST car buying experience ever. The way the dealers are handling the car has really turned me off. Such a shame.

I think its just the fact that alot of the Nissan dealerships may not be used to a car of this caliber, or the clientele that it brings.

I mean the next nicest car they had was a 350z with a Nismo body kit. Are people expecting a full concierge service?

It's not so much the "full concierge service". It's all the BS and attitude from the sales reps and even at times from the GM.

Well they finally have a decent product that the world press has been all over. I think their egos were "slightly" inflated to say the least. They should have release his car to Infiniti and let them handle the service. It would have been a wiser choice for the name branding since it is a car closer to their price points than Nissan's. People are not clueless that Inifiniti is Nissan so it wouldn't hurt the car branding.

Time will tell and overall costs will determine if this car will remain a keeper for some and a second hand cars for others.
