If you fill up that page of transmission changes, you can buy yourself a brand new 997TT, but obviously you'd have to buy the car(r35), and that means you can buy yourself an F430, with the left over money going into a prius for a DD.

For a person that hates the GTR so much, you sure do spend a lot of time in the GTR section. Seriously, move on...

I actually think Mike has a good set of points here guys.
The tranny issue needs to get fixed. Once fixed, that will be a huge move forward in my mind for the car. I for one would not buy one until that happens. Really. One data point, but an open consumer data point.

I can't help but wonder how this problem didn't show up during testing. I mean they do test new cars pretty rigorously don't they? Were they in that much of a hurry to get this car to market that they knowingly built it with a tranny that was not up to the task and then weasel worded the warranty to cover themselves? Pretty lame if so.
It's the same reason you'll never see an adjustable boost controller on any car from the factory. That button on the dash was a huge mistake as well, and I bet it won't be in future versions.
And Jeff, You own a 996TT, so your opinion doesn't count, because obviously you're a "hater" like me!

The GT-R is a phenomenal car! But because the car has raised the standards of performance, one now assumes the car should be unbreakable. In some ways true, but these voided warranties are due to abusive, destructive type driving I believe.
The GT-R has been owned/driven by the Japanese market for almost a year now, yet we haven't heard of these tranny issues in Japan spread all over the internet world like wildfire.
Ive also read that Chevrolet has stopped production of the ZR-1. I think these production halts are reflections of inflation and the economy, and not because of poor production issues.

I don't know. How about a production car that laps the Nurburgring @ 7.29 for about $80k? That seems like a nice standard or yardstick to measure against. Oh wait, Nissan "lied" about that.
They may have.
You know all the racers in the Tour de France have always been clean....they say so in interview and get tested (and know they will get tested...).
Would I be shocked if they had r compound tires that were very normal looking...nope. Clever if you ask me....
