Vivid Racing's Complete GT-R Build Thread
Vivid Racing’s GT-R is getting closer to completion. Because of the uniqueness of this car, we wanted to build a custom body kit. To change up the front bumper, rear wing, and side skirts, getting creative was the task at hand. The front bumper we wanted to have that DTM style look on the side with big ductings and fog lights on the front. Because the stock bumper is urethane, we actually took a Rieger Ford Focus urethane bumper and chopped it up. The side skirts were tricky too. They measure 79inches in length so we found the E60 BMW M5 skirts from Rieger to work as well. Being urethane, they would be easy to modify and fit to the car with that aggressive look. The rear wing we are keeping stock but raising about 2inches with a negative 5 degree rake.
Today we should have updated pics of the car being painted flat red and making its transition into the utlimate GT-R! More info coming soon but stay tuned to our Project Car Section at www.vividracing.com/forums.

it looks like the vents will let force fed air out from in front of the coolers. Are you going to block them off so they don't hurt the functional ducts on the front of the car? or are you going to rework the ducting to keep your mods from hurting the functioning aero on the car?

If you want to watch a Project Car evolve, then this is one to follow. From the purchase of the vehicle, to the performance modifications, interior upgrades, and now exterior paint, this car is coming along as planned! The selling point for this project was to really change the exterior presence and to help do this, we took the concept drawing of the Wald GT-R and photoshopped it accordingly. Our GT-R has just come back from paint and we now have some sneak shots of it in its new Flat Red attire. To go with the theme, we painted the roof, hood, and bumper accents flat black as well. More pictures will be available soon as we start reassembling the interior and exterior and the car goes off to the Stereo shop. Next up for the mods... We will be adding the Agency Power intakes and intercooler pipes along with full carbon fiber engine trim and dash trim. A Rockford Fosgate stereo will be installed too.
