Switzer R1KX on the way
Talking to Tim only spreads more misinformation. He doesn't understand anything AMS chooses to share with him let alone have enough experience and understanding to explain it

Alright cupcake since I have to tone down my convo with you.Why don't you tell me what ,AMS and I talk about, you act like you know me but no nothing about me, again tell me where I spread misinformation. So get a life if you had somthing to say to me you would of said it in TX,but funny you had nothing to say
let me get this straight, MR.CASH MONEY .. If want to let other shops/people spend their money on R&D , before i dump my money on a "proven" build "I should leave it alone"..lol .. 98% of people value their money and want to see some proven /time tested setups..Obviously i can afford a big build, but im not in the business to **** 30k on motors that pop every 10 passes.. we are not all big ballers like you
that comment makes no sense to me.. Doing research and talking about these big builds is what forums are for... what else are we going to talk about?
I wont start a debate on supra motors as you have more experience.. I was merely saying a stock 2jz IRON block can take more abuse then the nissan stock aluminum block , nothing more nothing less..

And how are you conducting 'research' on a forum....especially Fagtroc? One percent of posts are made by those who actually do any R&D or assemble a motor with experience. Forums allow us to entertain each other, buy stuff from vendors, talk about who's car is faster, and brag/advertise on signatures. Oh yea....and bench race!
Regarding the 2JZ comparison, yes at this moment in time a 2JZ makes more reliable horsepower, but it took 6-7 years to get there and guys like Titan to race them every week and Accelerated Performance to machine and assemble to much higher levels of precision to achieve it's relative reliability. Your iron vs aluminum argument is a generalized over simplification.
We've only had about two years to play around withe the VR38. It may or may not reach 2JZ levels....but it was never designed to beat the unique aftermarket hp levels achieved by the 2JZ or previous Skyline. So you may be waiting a long time to get whatever type of assurances you are looking for.....which I personally don't believe you'll ever find.

I'm a long time lurker, signed up pretty much for this thread only.
This is an epic thread. Discussion regarding (more than likely) the baddest GTR built to date...and throw in OhioGT2 layin the smack down (the guy f'n cracks me up)...I don't see how it could get much better (maybe some 1300whp dyno sheets and 8sec time slips...but I'm sure that will come).
Good luck to all parties involved...

Once again you misinterpreted what I said and immediately got defensive. This is not about who has more money - I'm small potatoes around here anyway. My point is if you're afraid to blow something up, stay in the middle of the mod pack. There is nothing wrong with that. We're talking about a small 6 cylinder with very little R&D to date and your questions alone clearly show you're not ready to take a chance. Asking for mileage estimates from a 1300bhp 6 cylinder is ridiculous. Hence, stick with your stock housings and enjoy your street car. That was my point.

tell me this Jamie, was there N20 run in a R1k that you know of?? I heard there was n20 being used on a black r1k , true are false???

It came off as if you were saying pull the trigger and stop bench racing.. but if thats what you meant.. then its all good.
what information was Tim spreading that was not True?? you call someone a liar and then won't back it up with info?

As to Mike's GTR, no nitrous was used on the runs Neil posted. Tym was going to use it, but Mike wasn't really interested, thus Tym didn't go any further. However, you can expect my GTR to use nitrous.

I'm confused? I swear I didn't swear!?!
I have to say what Ohio GT2 and Neil said is right, when your pushing these small cube motors this far over factory parameters...it really is a crap shoot. You should not push a 3.8 liter motor to 1200 AWHP if you are looking for factory reliability, and if you don't have the money to replace a motor at any point.
That being said, having been around street racing or involved with it most of my adult life. The times we are living in with regards to performance are amazing. The era of 7 second street legal cars ( well I guess they had that years ago) but also the era of 160 mph trap speed cars that you can drive easily to the grocery store.
I am not sure if the VR38 will be capable of the upper limits of the 2JZ, but it seems like the VR38 is capable of larger cubes which may help to even the battle with it and the TT Gallardo's.
