My new GTR. 2012 Deep Blue Pearl Black Edition
My new GTR. 2012 Deep Blue Pearl Black Edition
So last year, I put down my deposit for a 13 GTR, but in early January, came across a good deal on a new Blue (my preferred color), 2012 Black Edition. The dealer, Nissan of St. Charles was really great, in particular Dino Kokotas in sales and Paul Meegan in the finance department. They were honest, straight forward with pricing/financing and were able to accommodate all of my requests. I purchased a new GTR car cover from a forum member here, had it shipped to the dealer and they helped me make arrangements for enclosed transport right away. I got my car about 3 weeks ago and it showed up perfect! The blue is really an amazing color!!
My first "mod" was a full front clear bra. I decided to go with a local shop that I've had good experiences with, GSR Autosport. They did a great job (pics attached), I covered the entire front bumper, fenders, headlights, hood, A pillar, and a portion of the rear quarter panel as pictured.
I was jumping in on the group buy for the RevoZport Carbon Trunk, but a member on another forum was selling his new one and I was lucky enough to buy it right away so there was no wait time.
This car has certainly met my needs as a DD so far. I have driven it to work everyday, have taken my kid to baseball practice and have gone grocery shopping in it already. I plan to take it the the Shift-S3ctor air strip event next weekend to do some pulls with some friends and would like to get it on track in the next couple of months. It's been awhile since I have driven an automatic, but it's actually a nice change. Up next is some tint and a midpipe...

Thanks Scott! Enjoy your 12 BE, I do plan on sending my car to Switzer or AMS in the future and really enjoy all of your build threads.

Thank you!

ps..Whenever you figure it out, let me know who you decide to go with regarding power upgrades ?

Still got the 996TT but back and forth from L.A and up North as you know. In Dec I picked up the CTT for my growing family. Now in the process of selling the E63 to follow your foot steps into the GTR world

When the time comes, it'll go only to Switzer or AMS... they both just seem to offer amazing packages. I haven't found anyone local I would trust with my car and those 2 shops seem to offer the "complete" package, tested, reliable and experienced with the platform. AMS totally fixed Gregs car and Deans car, and now that Nico has gone big, we'll see how his car performs.

Thank you!
Congrats on the car! Love the color. Still back and forth with the RevoZport Carbon Trunk. I've always thought that the wing breaks up the big rear end.
But I'm sure it looks completely different in person.

I definitely plan to do a few DE's a year with the car. I already do race my Cayman S so that car will still get most of the track weekends.
Thank you, it's a different look but I really like it... I tend to change things around often so will probably be back and forth with the cosmetic mods.
I really like that trunk. Aside from the lower profile (but still aggressive) look, is there any weight reduction realized when compared to the stock trunk? Congratulations on the terrific looking GTR!
