2014 GT-R Nurburgring time: 7:19.1
Very very cool....Its near the top of production cars now on the Ring. Will there ever be an updated Spec V? That could probably get closer to or beat the record. Would be nice Godzilla with the Nurburgring title.
Great car and time, Msrp is getting a little out of hand. Considering an ACR is 100k new and 5 years old tech and still puts out a 7:14 there's no better bang for buck track car without a doubt that being said the GTR is a much better overall car if you consider practicality. This year should be a very interesting year for the Ring laptimes lots of big hitters. It's a damn shame Nissan doesn't come racing on the big scene other than FIA GT1 in europe they would fit in quite nicely in ALMS or Grand-AM ever since the GTR came out I still don't understand how they don't have a factory team racing in North America?

now how many laps can it do without a team of Nissan guys tearing it down. Every single one I have seen at the track has not been able to stay out as long as the 911's.

About ALMS I would love to see a GTR in the mix. This car was made to run in ALMS...I wish one one of the GTR teams from FIA GT1, Sumo or RJN, would run in ALMS like Matech did with the Ford GT.
It was a 7:12 not 7:14 for the ACR if I remember correctly. 7:14 was the LFA I believe.

ALMS would almost rival FIA if they added the GTR and it deserves to be racing on a world scale the pure bred it is.

2014 is fast
The 2014 GTR is very fast. I wonder with all the Alpha's 9 and others when one of the tuners will take their car here and put up a number. The tuners get 800 crank HP with good reliability .
Who will be brave enough to send a tuner car . Maybe a 7.10 lap ??

There are lots modded GTRs in the sub 710s but it doesn't really count as they are longer stock production cars. Alot of the jap teams do lots of testing there.
It's an expensive (and RISKY) pursuit of that ultimate lap-time that can really only be set by those who are willing to risk it all, and you need to have a driver that is capable of getting every last iota out of the car at a track that is both complex and treacherous. We must be aware that even an 8 minute lap of that track is a serious proposition that very few could accomplish with any type of vehicle, and 'ring specialists are the ones getting the truly amazing numbers at the end of the day (with few exceptions). I would go on to say that even a GM engineer that runs a mid 7 minute lap there might be bettered by someone who knew the track even better, that track is wildly complex and cannot be learned quickly.
So, the practicality of the idea is really not there, at least not in general. I would love to see it happen as much as the next guy though, since we couldn't otherwise discuss street cars running in the low 7 minute range (or, dare I say, a high 6 minute lap)?
