Wedding locale
Wedding locale
My sister is getting married in September (just got engaged!), and they are looking for a venue somewhere in the "area" (ranging from Big Sur to Tahoe). She would choose something different than I would, and favors something outdoors and natural. For instance, she liked Hidden Villa on Moody as a possible location - the chickens running around didn't seem to bother her
.
In addition to Hidden Villa, they looked at Homewood (the skilift put them off of that) and Family Farm in Portola, as well as a place in Big Sur.
Anyone have any knowledge of a good place for a wedding that's outdoors and could support both wedding and reception (around 150 people)? I'm the type of person that would choose the Ritz in Half Moon Bay, but she is not, so nothing like that. There don't seem to be too many places that are meant for weddings that are a bit off the beaten path.
Thanks guys!

castlewood country club @ pleasanton. a friend did it here last summer (outdoor wedding, indoor reception). pretty decent venue. no chickens running around though. http://www.castlewoodcc.org/
This is where we're getting married - very outdoorsy and gorgeous property in Calistoga. You can rent out the whole vineyard.

You should definitely either visit it in person or go find more pictures of it from other online sources. The pictures on the site doesn't do it justice - they don't really focus their attention on there.

My aunt/uncle just opened this new winery a few months back. I attended the opening over the summer, and would highly recommend it for a wedding. Building/grounds are amazing.
Good luck...

Ya ya Brian, my time will come soon enough (sooner rather than later, or I'm in trouble ha ha).
I forgot about Fogarty, I've definitely driven by there many times. No group drive during the wedding, I don't want to hear you roaring by.
