Tahoe Run 2009
Tahoe Run 2009
Hello Everyone,
It is that time of year again for the 2009 Tahoe Run. We will be heading out on August 29th and doing the extended loop around the lake. For many of you who have attend this run in the past we have added a new section to the drive. If you have been waiting to go on a day drive then this is your drive.
We will be meeting at:
The Nimbus Winery
12401 Folsom Blvd, Rancho Cordova CA
Depart at 9:00am on the dot
PLAN ON BEING GONE ALL DAY. You are welcome to attend part of the drive or meeting points but the drive will last most of the day.
Lunch will be in Tahoe at the Lake Forest Buffet at Harrish Tahoe. Not the best food in the world but a great view and is able to seat a large group.
Maps will be provided on the day of the event for all of those who are attending the drive.
Check list.
1. Fill up prior to departure. (there is a chevron right off HW 50 and Hazel)
2. Two way radio if possible (helps the leads know what is going on)
3. Top off fluids
4. Check tire pressure
5. Clean air filter
If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.

start 50 side and back 80 side.
However we are only on HW 50 to placerville. After that it is all twisty back roads. Same with HW 80.
This is not a run up and back but a great drive on some great roads in some beautiful back country. Hope you can make it out.
Cheers

Hello Steve,
No I do not belong to the PCA Sacramento. I don;t have a Porsche
and most of the people that attend the PCA are fans of EuroSunday and come to the events. So i get the 411 from them as well as list there events for you guys on our calendar.
The responses are normal for this drive. I have also posted this drive on Ferrari Talk, M3 forums, Audizine, Ford GT forum, Rennlist and so on. It will also be sent out to the EuroSunday email lists for Bay Area, Sacramento, Reno, and Stockton. Most people don't know if they will be free to attend till the week before. (or their signifigant other doesn't give them the OK to go till a week before ;-)
Several of the Cayman group owners are meeting us in Tahoe for the second part of the drive.
Have fun at the party. We will have some other drives posted to go on for sept.
Cheers

Hello everyone.
I have posted the images from my 2009 Tahoe Run. Everyone that attended the drive had a great time as a fun group of car enthusiasts. The final group ended up with 31 cars total for the drive up and around Lake Tahoe. The weather was a little warmer than usual but the roads were perfect and the scenery was breath taking. I hope next year we can have an even bigger group for the drive there.
Keep an eye open for a possible second Tahoe run this year. A lot of people missed the drive that wanted to attend.
Other events I am planning for everyone.
Napa run and photoshoot
HW 1 Marathon drive (only the brave need apply)
Stanford to Santa Cruz (classic old school run from 2002 on)
If you want to find out when these drives are without checking the forms, PM me your email and I will add you to my drivers email list.

A lot of the people who came on the drive brought their wives. I asked them even if the speeds were good and if they were they having fun. All of them had nothing but huge grins and said they loved the route. I don't post "speed" runs on the forum. Those are private smaller drives as a large group would not be safe. That said there are some sections that are safe you can get a little speed if you wish. But as I always say before the drive, "this is not a race and drive your drive". The idea is to have fun with fellow motor enthusiasts and not have to worry if the car will get dinged up.
Besides it gives you an adventure over the weekend so when you go into work they ask how was your weekend you can tell them "I did a drive through XX with 40 cars and we took over the freeway =)"
PM me your email as I can't find it DOH! LOL
