The title says it all. Vkool is a high infrared rejecting window tint from overseas. It is a quality film that can provide high IR rejecting numbers while remaining nearly transparent. The customer of this Lexus came to us because he was not entirely happy with Vkool. Not because it did not perform well, but because of its limitations in its application. Vkool's tint can only be applied to a flat surface, which makes for the rear glass application nearly impossible. The previous tinter who installed the product did the entire application with Vkool on the side windows except for the rear glass in which a hybrid tint (Suntek) was used. So there is a mismatch in film and it is not uniform throughout. In addition, the heat rejection of Suntek's tint is not nearly comparable to those of Vkool's.
Customer came to us regarding our new Diamond Cut IR (more info here: luxury4play.com/west/31325-premiers-diamond-cut-ir-tint-installed-w-pics-4.htm) and the high infrared blockage (rated at 94% vs. Vkool's 91%). After running through a demonstration of our new tint's capabilities, it was obvious that he wanted to change everything out for the newest product.
Below are pictures of the Vkool on the sides and Suntek tint on the rear glass before everything was removed.

Here are some comparison of our product under a heat lamp measured with a BTU meter. Vkool was the first high infrared rejecting window film on the market. Today we will be making a comparison of our Diamond Cut IR to Vkool's tint.

Here are some shots of a '10 911 with our Diamond Cut IR tint installed. 63% for the front two windows and 50% for the rear three. There is plenty of information on our product in pages prior to this post. A quick synapse:
1. 94% infrared rejection (most ceramic tint only offers up to 78% infrared blockage).
2. 94% infrared rejection regardless of tint shade.
3. 10-15 degrees difference in cabin temperature compared to other high end tint.

Installed here is 50% on the front and 33% on the rears (no windshield)

 

Many have asked us how the product compares to ceramic tint. Here, we have a popular 50% ceramic tint to be compared to Diamond Cut IR 50%.

Have a timer along with a commercial heat lamp spaced just 1 ft from the test area. :






We started with a cool 67 degrees on the surface





Heat lamp measures in at over 400 degrees Fahrenheit

 

With a heat lamp running at 400+ degrees, here are the results:

Ceramic (tint to the right side) - 2 minutes 52 seconds, temperature rises from 67 degrees to 80 degrees

Diamond Cut (tint to the left side) - 3 minutes 1 second, temperature rises from 67 degrees to 71 degrees

***9 degree improvement

 

I so badly wish you guys were in Florida!!!!

I got a terrible tint job done by someone who was supposed to be "the best"....now I've got little tiny bubbles here and there, odd wrinkles, and I'm just overall unhappy.
