Porsche World Roadshow at Sonoma Raceway May 10-12
The Porsche World Roadshow is coming to the Bay Area again on May 10-12 up at Sonoma Raceway. I'm signed up for the Friday with a friend of mine, and then planning to go on Sunday with the wife. It's basically a spirited test drive of their lineup both on the track and in an autocross course.
Hope to see some 6Speeders out there.

I checked online and there are still time slots available. Did a dealer say that they were out of invitations? You might try a different dealership (aren't there around 6 of them in the Bay Area?). Just an idea....
I can't imagine that spectating would be any problem. When I did this event a couple of years ago, the entrance to the venue was separate from registering at the Porsche tent for driving.

Yup -- I believe each dealer has been given an allotment of invitations (with codes).
I got invited to last year's roadshow in Alameda. So I took my wife. This time she got the invite (note: both of our Turbo's are registered under my name with porsche) and jumped online to RSVP and it was already full. Turns out, last year 85% of the invites came from the various dealers in the SF Bay Area (that's how I got mine). It definitely didn't fill up nearly as fast. This year, they're only getting 15% of the invites (I asked my p-car dealer contact.) The 85% are from their databases of 'interested' porsche customers. bummer. we're die hard p-car fans and wanted to drive the new cayman. if anyone who got a 'lucky' invite and was able to RSVP but cant go, please pm me. We'd be happy to go in your place!
I had a nice time at the Porsche World Roadshow (Sonoma Raceway) yesterday. The event is broken into 4 parts -- a quick intro and slideshow, a demo of the AWD system on slip n' slide surface, a test drive of the Panamera (S+Hybrid) and Cayenne (Base+Diesel) on a short coned course, and the chance to drive the 911 Base, 911 C4S, Cayman Base and Cayman S on Sonoma Raceway (one lap each). Of course, the track portion was the most interesting. But since it's lead-follow format, the pace will pretty much be limited to the slowest driver in the group. I found myself having to hit the brakes a bit more than I would normally at the track
-- Still fun though.

Same -- Friday at 10am. Were you in the first or second group on the track? I lucked out and got moved into the first group. It turns out they switched the track configuration to skip the carousel after the first group of the 10am session to save a little time on the schedule. I heard they might keep it that way for the rest of the weekend. The NASCAR version of Sonoma Raceway is still fun, but not as much as the carousel section.
