Porsche Factory Explosion - 911 Production Halted

Well, I am sure you all know about the explosion in the Porsche Factory by now, halting production of the 911's (see link in 997Turbo thread if you haven't). Anyway, turns out my 997TT WAS IN THE PAINT FACTORY during the explosion - it was supposed to have gone to final assembly today. The factory is still closed while police inspect and they get the several feet of water from the sprinkler systems out of the building. Doesn't that just suck - what bad timing! Oh well, just a longer wait I guess - hopefully no damage to the vehicles (2 men were injured but have been released from the hospital). If anyone hears any news on this, I would love to get more details on the current status in Stuttgart.

mitchelrl is infamous around these parts
I blame it on the ///M Program at BMW. You know they sabotaged the Porsches to boost sales of the new ///M3. How convenient, just a week before their official launch.

=)

I sure hope there are no problems with the paint quality and final assembly/inspectionof your car due to this!

Hopefully because of it they will inspect everything extra well. I am an eternal optimist.

Ouch man, that's harsh.

Greta, just think. The extra heat from the explosion made sure the paint cured.
