I have finally found and have the car I love and plan to drive it and enjoy it as much as I can for as long as I can. For you avid car collectors, it does appear to be a good time to buy. Buy Low, Sell High!

Find me a nice 997 GT3 @75 and it will be in my garage.

Talk about depreciation...

2006 S65 AMG
MSRP $195K
SOLD $37K

2.5 year Depreciation: 158K
per month dep: $5,266
Dep %: 81% (2.5 years)
Annualized rate of dep: -45% (thats like the stock market this year but for 1.5 more years).

Fcars are losing their value, but not nearly as fast as the luxury market.

Now IS a good time to buy....if you don't have to sell in order to buy.

The S65 is getting hammered. Where did this sale occur?

Is there any chance any of these cars appreciate? I doubt it.

Yeah, let's hope that the AMG that I've been using to hold the driveway down get's a cheaper insurance premium to go with it's reduced value. Right about now even trading it in on something is horrendous. I didn't buy it thinking it would ever go up, but it sure it crazy to know that it's probably closer to $20K than $40K and it's two and a half years old.

White is growing on me. It might be worth the loss of hp to eventually get a white car over red

Mercedes Benz forever has been the depreciation king. Good market or bad market whomever buys one gets hammered like no other car. So in a bad market they are going to drop like flies.

that's the best example i've ever seen above. I've never understood the guys that buy those 180k benz knowing they sell for 100k in a year. it's odd to me. I don't know if it's because benz makes so many or because people dump them because they are in the shop all of the time.

That's absolutely not the case...I have three Benzes right now, have owned a total of 6. Never had any issues and they're certainly not maintenance heavy.
And yes, even the limited models depreciate.

i've only read consumer reports about issues and them being bottom. I kind of always thought it had to do with all the little old ladies that owned the c,e and s classes and them complaining about EVERYTHING.

Only your DTM holds value but i guess with only 100 made that will help

That's not the mainstream benz though and never will be.
