^^ That's what I've been thinking. Every little noise and they'll take the car to the dealership. I also agree that I would NEVER purchase a NEW Benz.

earlymidlifecri is infamous around these parts
That's absolutely not the case...I have three Benzes right now, have owned a total of 6. Never had any issues and they're certainly not maintenance heavy.
And yes, even the limited models depreciate.

At that price, the S65 is very tempting.

the luxury cars are so different in that respect to an american or cheap import. People expect those cars to make noise, rattle etc and they live with it. If a BENZ, has a snag in the leather it is taken in, a small rattle that is caused by a rock in the tire....it is taken in... and that hurts the overall scores for times in service

Why would they do that? Rattling adds to the ambiance of driving similar to the waterfall noises at a spa.

You say that because you drive a Loti

Anyone who buys a Porsche knows they rattle. If you don't know that and expect no rattles than don't by a Porschi (is that plural RB?)

I like that Loti comment I saw.

Yeah I think porschi is correct. Not sure what everyone will think. I only have a reputation of 20 so I'm merely a peon. Only jodys opinion matters.

What everybody else said about the reliability.

And people don't buy a Benz, they lease. You'll be amazed at how many people go that route, partly because of the insane depreciation curve.

And I'm with CrazyRuskie, I would never buy a NEW Benz. Let someone else eat that depreciation like I did!

Ruskie,

Merry Christmas (Russian Orthodox Calendar)

I am in the Ukraine now, heading back to Moscow on the 9th.
I miss driving period, let alone my car.

I hope to see you all on a drive or something after I get back towards the end of the month.

Cheers,

Brian

Mark, I think you were taken all 4 times. As for the rattles & Mercedes etc, truth be told I take my car in to the dealership when I have a rattle... I expect a little better quality out of a $45k car lol, shouldn't be rattling in the first year.
