My whole point was that the UA is an amazing acheivement, as has already been said. Some seem to be really negative about the car, but again were way off track here.

What cars are going to be at next weekends Exotics @ RTC event?

Sorry if I ruffled feathers, as it was not my intent

For a company in West Richland without an unlimited budget to produce a car that is the fastest in the world is truly amazing. And do you honestly think I experience wheelspin everyday at freeway speeds or try to? I just said in my opinion it is an amazing experience, and an adrenalin rush.

I actually drive very sane 99% of the time, alot of my drives are top off with the little girl. I didn't realize how many insane 700 plus RWHP cars are out there that people drive all the time. Heck in Texas you need 800 to the tire to win any races
All of your previous posts is how most of us have formed this opinion.

999 of 1000 people that can afford these cars are the real reason they shouldn't be made. From the trust fund kid to the Google CEO that's never mastered driving his Prius. These cars should only be sold with 50 hours of driving class mandatory. I've been on too many drives with too many people that shouldn't be behind the wheel of these cars without 1000 times more experience before they do peg it.

These cars are sold to the wealthy and without the wealthy they wouldn't be built. The manufactures just care about the cash and don't care what happens afterwards. It's tragic but true.

This is the exact owner that buys it. He floors it at a stop sign or stop light to show off the power because he doesn't know better. He respects the car only after he dumps it into a pole.

I've never discounted this car in anyway. It's got too much hp for the normal guy and it's priced too high to sell 100's of. My only real criticism to this car has been it's looks. I don't like it. Corvette rear end plus a couple added taillights and a saleen front end. It doesn't stand out in the crowd. choke, cough, hack, I think the Skittles Green car Tommy drives is 5 times better looking. It's just too plain. The Veyron at least stepped out of the box and made it's own statement. That car doesn't look like anything ever before. I can't talk about it's performance because Tommy wouldn't get me the 10 hot laps at Pacific Raceways I wanted.

I will say this My RS America would probably give this beast a run for it's money at Pacific Raceways. I'd love to see that thing around 5a and 5b and nose in at 3b. Out of 2 you couldn't hammer it until 200 yards from the brake point because the slightest corner angle it would be in the tires if throttled. Damn it would blow by my 245hp car away in the straight though

Here's a great example. I've posted previously

Many brave men have gone before to conquer the world of automobile manufacturing, but most that have tried to make a go of it have failed in a few short years. I have no idea if this company is financially viable by just selling these cars, but it is a great achievement to see them built and sold, nonetheless.

Kudos to SSC!

Yea, I agree. Most never get this far. Even Jay Leno commented on how many come along with a prototype and never get to actually build a car and put it into production, even in small numbers. The fit and finish was better than I was expecting and it was a car that's two years old. I'm looking forward to seeing a new 09. They will be back out this summer.

I've not seen this video before, but I know who filmed it. He's a good friend and he's been here in Seattle the past month. I'll ask him about the driver, but I think I know who that is too.

I just got e-mail from Elliot from Speedandmotion.com who shot the video. The driver of the 6.0 is a former pro racer and that's an AWD car. Here's Elliot's e-mail to me.

Yes that's Paul....where most of you almost lost your $$$$ on that drive.* LOL!

Clutch was after the fact.* We setup for that shot at the stoplight when Paul radioed to us.....so I was ready with camera.* He just lost it.*

I've seen Paul do a 180 in his 6.0 from a dead stop in a very small confined parking lot space.* I've also seen him drift his car onto a freeway onramp.*

Grant's laugh is what made the video.* Originally, when it happneed Paul kept getting teased that it was going up on youtube at the luncheon. I had it offline and posted privately but got Paul's permission to post it public.

Elliot

I can say too that Paul is very highly regarded as a driver and knows what he's doing. To Mark's point, even the best drivers sometimes get into something they didn't intend. This is in part why city streets can sometimes be unpredictable. The laughter is coming from the service manager of LOC at the time.

I must say that Saturday was a great turnout. I wonder how many more people would have come out not for the foggy morning. It was a lot of fun to see the Ultimate Aero mixed in with other exotics. That car does stand out. One of the best pictures had to be after most of the people left and the Aero, Toms car and two other Lambo's were all parked in a row (I assume you were all eating lunch at Desert Fire). I wish I had a camera! It sure looked cool.

Anyway, good show. It's too bad more people from this board didn't get a chance to see it. In my opinion pictures don't do it justice. There are a few people on this board that don't care for it and I would love to know if seeing it in real life would change there opinion.

To those that got to ride in it. How sweet do those turbos sound when Jerod got in and out of the throttle?

Yea, I loved the sound. We all stuck around for lunch and that's going to be something we try and do every Saturday, so come in and join us. I think there were about fourteen of us at a long table and we'll do two rows next time. It was great fun!

I will definitely take you up on that next time. We had breakfast/lunch at Ruby's and it was pretty poor.

This is what I was speaking about, some seem to not think its as great of an achievement as it truly is. A company from our state producing the worlds fastest car! Makes me proud to be a Washingtonian!

Tommy I always forget how RWD biased the VT system is, how long does it typically take for the power to go forward when the back loses traction?

I really don't know. To me it feels instantaneous. The car has pulled me straight a few times when I really needed it. I didn't feel any lag. When you're pushing it hard, you can feel the torque pull the car to one side and with the E-gear you don't take your foot off the gas when you shift so you're just running through the power band yet you can feel the car pull itself straight at times and it does it without much thought. The power band feels very similar to how the ride felt in the UA, however the UA is quicker but I could tell that Jarod had to work harder to keep it straight.

Don't worry, I got the pic.
