Hi Everyone!
Looks like we will have good weather for this Saturday! We are working out the details of a plan to move the entire event to the center square and we may move as soon as this weekend. It will require more coordination from volunteers but it will be a terrific event for spectators. We learned from last week's Lamborghini event that if we angle in the cars and position them correctly, we can get enough cars in. It will require slightly tighter enter and exit controls but we think we can make it work. If there is a strong preference from the car community either way, please let us know because there are positives and negatives to either location. For the Lamborghini event we grouped cars by height and that made for a terrific visual. We'd probably continue to do the same thing. We will also keep the overflow lot for the time being until we have some experience.

We also want to start hosting a series of drives to various lunch spots in the area and we'd love some suggestions so we can begin to build a calendar of where we're heading after the event. Tony of Desert Fire is talking about a buffet/brunch menu on Saturday mornings if that is of interest.

 

Sounds like some fun plans are in the works! I'll see you guys on Saturday! =)

That's a great idea moving the marque to the center area. It's unfortunately BAD, photography-wise especially so early in the morning because it's in the shade but on the other hand, it's much better because of all the places on the 2nd floor that we could get better angles from. So, it could work.

I love the idea of a "drive" afterwards to lunch elsewhere. A different place every week? This could be fun! Tommy, I don't suppose you could get the motorcade to escort us again? I loved being able to drive through red lights legally.

Finally, I won't be able to make it. I'm going on that Porsche drive hosted by Nize. I'll try to make the next one!

 

Yea, it was fun to have the escort but it all gets expensive. It was fun to have everyone together in one long line. We don't know if the center circle will work well yet, but we'll see.

 

I'll be there this weekend with Family and all. The kids have been asking to come out again. Marlie will be out with us too.

I noticed last Sat it was tricky for photography with the shade in some spots but the good photographers seem to work around it better than me. It is however a better location to view and socialize.

Like the idea of brunch very much. My wife would be more compelled to get up early to make it then.... We should be there this Sat!

As for lunch locations I'd toss out the Maltby Cafe (and the near by Ice Cream shop). Gravel parking at the cafe, though it is well compacted.
