New Member here~and Barrier Porsche SUCK!!!!
New Member here~ (EDITED)
Had been lurking around here for a while but finally decide to man up and speak out "HELLOO~~~"
It's a 09 Cayenne Tiptronic.
Wife needed/wanted a SUV for reasons I am still not sure. She wanted a X5 until she saw a Cayenne in the lot. I WAS not a big fan for German cars. Last German car I had was a C36 AMG many years ago that have a slow transmission and horrible reliablity. But since this is gonna be her car, she have the decision.
She didn't care about the model as long as it's new and white. So ofcourse I am gonna get her the very basic one (V6).
=================================================
(edit-off rant about Barrier Porsche as Barrier actually let wife test drive a V6 and S model) However bought from Los Angeles since I was not happy with sales deparment from Barrier.
================================================== ===
The car had totally change my thought about German cars, even though it's a weak V6, I have soooooo much fun driving it! I am kicking myself for not getting the S or GTS. Think I am gonna get myself a Cayman S sometimes soon....

Hold on... so you bought the car without ever test-driving one? As for washington state auto dealerships, they are usually more expensive than buying out of state. Most of the time however, if you do buy a car from a place like Barrier, they will take care of you in the long run on services, problems etc.
Anyways, enjoy the new car.
Post up pictures. And introduce yourself.

Congrats on the new ride. I have to agree with you on Barrier sales. Worst place I have ever had to deal with when it comes to price. They have lost 4 sales of mine in the past 3 years since they do not budge on price.
I had the same experience with Barrier - ended up buying from a Tacoma dealership who then tried to renege on a few things last minute... Makes out of state purchasing really appealing.
Great experience buying our MINI though from NW MINI

Went to Barrier in Bellevue twice. Sales is not very helpful. He had made it very clear that in 7 years as Porsche sales, he had never seen any Cayenne that is NOT fully loaded. Not much room for price negotiation either (usually 2~3K under MSRP according to him) as "Those cars pretty much sell themselve".
Decide to give dealer in Los Angeles a call, placed the order in less than 10 minutes. $500 less than invoice price on Edmunds.com and about $10K less than the one Barrier try to sell me. Send the check Thursday, car shows up in front of my house on Tuesday

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new Porsche. Your wife has great taste in color! I only drive white cars too and am on my third white Porsche. Sorry you had a bad experience at Barrier. I have had only great experiences, exceptional service from the service department, and they got me top dollar when I sold my last Porsche on consignment (about $15k more than the forum members said I could get). I do know everyone there personally if you would like a recommendation of someone that would take care of you. Regardless, welcome and we look forward to meeting you, the Mrs. and the new wheels!

Who was it?
My experience with Barrier was similar: disappointed with their price policy, but pleased with their service. They should realize that this is not 1999 anymore, and cars do not sell themselves (though there was never any doubt that I'd be buying a Porsche) but clearly they can still get away with that act so they keep it up.
Wow, Thanks for the warm welcome!!!
Yup, bought the car without test drive. Wife tested both V6 and S and okayed V6.
Glad I am not the only one that feel that way about Barrier. I am aware that Washington State car cost more but the attitude was what pushed me away. Manager seems like a great guy but he assigned the sales that I don't really care about. Not sure if I really want to name any name yet but I am gonna give them another try when I am ready to pick up another Porsche. In comparison, guy from L.A. Porsche treated me like king.
Good to hear that at least Barrier service is great since Cayenne is gonna be there this month for oil change.
(Tuesday afternoon when car shows up!!!!)

(First road trip on Cayenne, Mt. Rainier at background)

Hahahaha...
Don't worry about that one Joel. You have to have been around a while to get that reference.
I've had good experiences with Barrier for a few purchases now, but I guess it's all in who you get to help you. I do hope you enjoy the new ride, and of course, welcome to The6.

Was actually curious about this "Dr. Pasteur"
Joel,
Sorry, like Jeremy said, you had to be there to understand my statement. There wasn't anything negative meant by that. We've had our share of "odd" folks come by so I just had to throw that in.
Your new Cayenne looks great and thanks for sharing those pictures. Looks like you two enjoyed a nice drive in the countryside.
As for Barrier, I've had good dealings with them before. Like others here have said, it depends on who you go to and having a referral does help too. A lot of us folks here know them. And their service dept is unmatched.
