Today's shooting

Wow, I just turned on the tv and found out about this horrible act, how can someone attack who's dedicating their lives to protect us? My condolences for the officers' families. I hope you catch the shooter quickly.

It is horrible. Not really sure what this type of violence can be chalked up to. With the shooting that occurred not too long ago still fresh in our memories its shocking to have something like this happen again.

It is tragic. The news has been reporting that 9 children were left without a parent in one single act. I can't imagine what their spouses are going through.
My neighbor is a Seattle PD Captain. Once again he will be traveling to a memorial service. He did mention that as a cadet, you are taught to vary your routine and avoid gathering in numbers like they did. Not taking anything away from them at all, just saying there might be coverage about that once they catch this guy.
Roy, was that the case when you were with the Sheriff's dept? (I think it was the Sherrif's dept)

Last i saw, they had the guy cornered in a house.

Hopefully, justice will be served quickly. I'm curious as to the motives.

To those kids James mentioned, very sad indeed, especially when you consider the holiday season.

Hopefully this not a new trend...ambushing and killing police officers. We have had two executions in the Pacific Northwest in the past month. I know I am more paranoid while on the streets working. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the Lakewood PD Officers.

Seeing the history on this guy it honestly makes me wish that we were more decisive in our convictions of criminals. I know its a big debate but in my opinion a serial rapist, a murderer, and a big time drug dealer that has contributed to the death of people and demise of neighborhoods all should be put to death. These type of people benefit society NONE. Yet they are given triple life sentences and bleed the State of money that could be sent to benefit other programs that are struggling for money. To me a triple life sentence is the equivalent to going to Jack in the Box ordering 7 double cheeseburgers, a cheese cake, Large curly fries, and then a diet coke. It makes no sense at all.

I feel the same way with the shooting at Ft.Hood. That Major should be hanged. Yes it may be a less "trendy" way to fulfill the death sentence but I think it is the right way to do it. It really irritates me when Criminals are given sympathy and second chances while only to repeat their previous behaviors. Like this guy getting out on bond when he has pending charges for 2nd degree rape of a child???? Why would they let someone accused of child rape post bond...The system is messed up. I understand that everyone has rights but at some point we need to take it "old school" and treat people that act like pieces of crap just like the pieces of crap they are. I'm sure some people want to and some actually follow thru and change their lifestyles, but when you have a habitual offender for various offenses I am sure that person isn't going to change. NO matter how much counseling they get or how convincing their words are during their parole hearings. Its like my Drill Sergeant told the Sh*tbags in our Company. "No matter how hard you try you CAN'T polish a turd."

Sorry for that rant.

The problem is that executing someone is a lot more expensive than having them incarcelated because once you do that there's no "oops, we've made a mistake". That's why trials are so long and everything gets caught up in appeals processes and all sorts of legal paperwork.

Especially when he was in prison in another state for life (or 95 years at least). Why the hell was he granted clemency by Huckabee? Bail while facing 8 felony counts including assaulting 2 other sheriffs? A lot of senseless acts that led up to this should be seriously questioned.

How about implant a GPS tracker in them where it can't be removed and drop their *** on an island in the middle of nowhere to fend for themselves? Has to be cheaper.

There are crazy people everywhere and nothing can change that. Maybe the state should put more effort into evaluating real criminals. Take a few of those staters off the freeways writing bs tickets and put more behind desks doing something that might lead to some real civil justice. Honestly I think handguns should be outlawed. I don’t know if that’s what was used in this case, but they are built to kill people and seem to always end up in the wrong hands. I would think they had no time to react with their guard down getting a cup of coffee having someone pull a handgun out of a jacket. A long gun is harder to hide and would probably given them a chance.

Btw you can polish a turd , they Mythbusted that!
