2009 rr hse

I am lookng at a 2009 RR HSE that is pretty loaded. It is CPO'd and low mileage. I was wondering if there is anything I should know about this model. I have been a member of 6speed Porache for a while and I just decided to buy this truck and unfortunatly don't have enough time to lurk and learn. Hoping you guys came give me the good, bad and ugly. Help me look at the right things and ask the right questions.

Drove it today and it is pretty fast for such a large truck. Handled well and had more then enough room. it will be my daily driver and I pack on 20k per year easy.

Thanks in advance for your input and guidance.

Early models had problems with faulty air ride suspension, coolant leaks, bad o2 sensors, bad fuel pump, electrical gremlins causing fuses to burn out etc...

Anything produced after 2006 ought to have the kinks worked out. I waited for an 06 MY HSE (SC'd) and would NOT buy anything built prior to that. Generally speaking, Ford and BMW sorted the suspension and electronics. Mine has been very reliable. The only issue I've had was a leaking radiator, which was covered under warranty. Mine's now out of warranty, and I purchased an independent warranty on it. RR's is CRAZY expensive and much shorter, although the indy wasn't inexpensive, either. I guess they've heard the stories about RR reliability!

VERY comfortable. VERY capable. A LOT more truck than the Sport.

Given that you're on LI, you'll probably go through brakes and tires. Check the wear that's left. Get the dealer to put that in writing, and when they wear out in half the time, you'll at least have something to negotiate with them. Is this from an authorized RR dealer? I wouldn't touch anything that isn't. RRs have CPO. You may find that useful.

I currently have an 09 HSE, and I have not had anything major. The worsk thing I can think of was the dreaded seat rock. When you accellerate your seat will move ever so slightly along the rails. Oh and my power seat motor failed once.

All covered under warranty.

I have am '04 hse with a BMW engine and so far I've had coolant leaked, air ride suspension, fuel pump, fuel sender, coolant system gaskets and among other minor things fixed. I have only 67k miles on it, and my extended warranty ended back in sept of last year and most started to break down after the extended warranty. So I suggest that you get extended warranty since you will be driving a lot with it. Oh, its a gas guzzler! I've driven a lot of luxury SUVs above 60k range and nothing compares to this. So my truck started to break down at around 60k miles, you should think about the extended warranty since the cost of repair is rediculuos.

I had an '07 HSE. Lots of issues. I have heard that '08 on is the way to go.

08-09 are just fine, but any rover 2010 and up really step up the game with the jaguar/tata bits...

I recently traded in my '05 HSE on an '08 Carrera 2S. I loved that Rover--until started to fall apart. At 70K mi I spent $5000 in a single month, with THOUSANDS more still needed. Air suspension, radiator, trans cooler, vacuum hoses melted, all kinds of crap. Traded it in with the VERY common steering wheel in the lap issue and the tranny was days away from exploding. Bonatti Grey paint
was falling apart. $8k+ for that. Loved it, then it hit a wall mechanically.
