Range Rover Evoque?
Range Rover Evoque?
Anyone have one? I am totally in love with it in pictures, but haven't seen one on the roads (or on a dealer lot even).
If you've got one, I'd love to hear some owner feedback. All the reviews seem positive, but I don't think they "get it". They complain about size, gas, and price, which honestly makes me think they're totally missed the point and market for this truck.

I would like to hear some real world reviews myself.
LR Dallas gets them in and then they are gone but I have yet to see one on the road.
This one caught my eye but SOLD.
Are they getting MSRP would be nice to know too.

I picked mine up November 23 and so far so good. Size wasn't a big issue for me as I picked up a '12 GL450 a month earlier but it could be if this will be your only car. Only issues so far is once in awhile a humming noise coming from the rear when I press alittle gas after coasting around 35-40MPH. Of course it doesn't happen when it was at the dealer. Other problems was the A Pillar was slightly loose on the left side compared to the right but the dealer ordered new clips and now it's tight. Another problem was the dealer's fault as they put on their emblem in the back and when i told them to remove it, there was gouges...they had to have someone repaint that section.
Fuel consumption is decent...not the best but not bad either. Only other complaint for U.S. cars are:
1. Alittle noisier cabin than I'm use too...must be the 4banger Turbo (being picky)
2. No digital MPH although if you switch the units to KMH it will show but when you switch back to MPH....the digial speedo disapears again.
3. No menu button to switch off the auto folding mirros....only dealer can do that (again being picky)
4. U.S. cars don't have park assist (not a big deal)
5. Reverse camera is slow to appear on the screen.
6. Going through the menus is alittle slow but still faster than my Jag (similar flash based menu screen)
All the above are minor issues in my book. There are leaks on the web that there will be a larger Evoque in 2 years and also a possibly of a "R" version (300HP+) similar to the Jaguar "R" versions. I did pay MSRP as I the best I could get was $500 off at one dealer but didn't like the color and so went with the other dealer with the car I liked and paid MSRP. I believe the 3 doors might be easier to get some discounts as they are harder to sell than the 5 door.
Overall....I am very happy with the purchase. There are some good video reviews on Youtube on the Evoque you can checkout.
Here is my Sumatra Black Evoque Prestige.

I saw my first one in person tonight over in Naples. What a gorgeous vehicle this is in the flesh.
Thanks for your input. You know, it actually doesn't look that small next to the big GL, haha. I would have thought it'd be MUCH smaller looking compared to it.

Good looking car. That would be my interior choice. I have been thinking about one of these as well. If you don't mind, I have a coupe of questions:
Gas Mileage: would you say a combined 23-25?
Is it easy to maneuver in parking lots and city parking?
Have you loaded golf clubs or similar cargo?
How is the sound system and Nav? Any bugs or issues? Can you set the Nav while moving?
As far as power, does it hold its own on an off ramp?
These aren't sexy questions but I've learned to ask to ask them of owners who are living with the cars.

I personally love the styling of the car and when I first saw one in person ( in some valet parking) it looked much better in person to me. A red 3-door with the bigger wheels really catches my eye. The only thing that really would hold a person like me back is the power plant and lack of power. Seeing that there might be a R version in the works then that would definitely cure that part...It would also be nice to see something of the scale of the Juke R (GTR powered Juke) I can see this car going against something like that.

Nav is again decent but by no means the best. Key stroke recognition on the touch screen is slow but you can input destination while on the move. I'm sure there are better systems out there by Audi and Lexus. I'm not really a golfer but I'll try to find my old golf bag and put it in the trunk.....I just have to find those clubs in the storage.....

Here is a pic of the trunk:

I believe 0-60MPH is around 6.7 seconds. Nothing to ride home about but decent enough power for passing on the highway. That is all I really wanted for my daily driver. Definitely slow if it was my weekend sporty car....but again it's my daily driver.
If you want more of the sporty look then definitely get the Dynamic model. It has more of a aggressive bull bar in the front and more aggressive rear diffusor in the back. They also blackout all brush aluminum trim on the outside. Dynamic also has Magneride which gives it alittle more handling. Some on the board buy the Prestige because of the nicer interior and then buy the Dynamic parts for the exterior afterwards to convert it. It's not cheap but doable.
Here are a couple of vids you can checkout on the Evoque:
