Getting close to painting my RX7 project. Been almost 3 years working on motor, interior, body etc. Going with a Mercedes deep black on it.

I had an RX7 in high school in the 80's and always wanted to build one with the early IMSA body.

i am putting it together in the next couple of weeks. The black came out very deep.

That kit is going to look great in black. I was never a huge fan of the squared look of the IMSA front, but I'm excited to see how yours turns out.

 

The front is not square on this particular kit, it flows really nice. I know the one you are talking about that was the later imsa kit run like 81--85. I should have more pics of it built this weekend

 

Oh man, it's starting to look like a real beast! What's it got lurking under the hood?

 

Its got a ported T-2 motor, microtech, etc. It runs nice, i did not get too crazy on the motor.

 

I'm glad to see it still has a rotary, it should be more than enough to back up that body, especially in a ~2400 lb chassis. Keep up the good work, I'll definitely be watching this one.
