New member. 2010 Evo X SE

I feel like a minnow looking around this forum, but this seems to be a place for me. Overly ostentatious power is my cup of tea (metaphorically....). Yeah my car is just a stock Evo X, nothing fancy. Rare, yes, but nothing fancy or worth bragging about.

Don't cut me up too bad.

Any plans for it? Love the evo x. The misses has a 2011 STI, almost bought a X MR, but were too connected to the subaru community

She is indeed still a virgin.

I'm torn. I've got a modest list of stuff I want to do but she's a rare one, one of only 340 X SEs made, and one of just 53 in that color. GSR wheels, interior, some bodywork. Small lip spoiler as you can see. No luxury items at ALL (no booming stereo, no leather, no nav, no sun roof no nothing) except for the bluetooth connectivity which I've come to love. It DOES have the MR suspension/brakes/HID headlights.

The SE is basically a GSR with the MR transmission; 6spd dual clutch automanual. Lightening fast shifts.

Given her rarity and cherry status I certainly won't be doing anything for a while; what do I WANT to do?

-turbo back exhaust
-Cobb engine management (AP)
-turbo inlet
-upper intercooler piping
-bigger front mount intercooler
-electronic boost solenoid

Down the line:
-SSP clutch packs
-SSP trans cooler

This will basically make the tranny bulletproof depending on which clutches I get. Don't want/need huge power, but a bit more would be nice....and certainly something that sounds a bit more aggressive. She's WAY too tame sounding right now.

+1 for tuning

I know a guy that is/was spending a lot of time tuning an Evo and got 50hp just from tweaking his tune. He is back to tuning 3000GT's now that the 98/99 ECUs have been discovered to be writable.

Awesome car, I have an extensively modded 08 X GSR myself. Don't feel modest, the stock X can go around a track faster than a brand new 911 Carrera
Also, yep I agree, an engine tune can get you a whole extra 70-90bhp in the right hands. AMS has e-mail tuning, they're pretty great at what they do.

For a budget upgrade, get a Cobb, turboback and crank the boost with a custom tune. It'll feel like a different car. What power level do you NEED the upgraded clutch packs?

The 991 911?

I have a hard time believing that...

Any proof?

I dunno about that either. These are the Top Gear test track times:

1:19.5 Porsche 997 GT2
1:22.2 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet
1:23.1 Porsche 997 GT3
1:26.2 Porsche 911 Carrera S (997) (damp)
1:28.2 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-300
1:28.9 Porsche 997 Carrera S (very wet)

Evo was the FQ300 model, on a dry track. The Carrera's were in the wet/rain.
