Well that's certainly interesting....
Did you do a motor swap, or own a 65 (NOT 63) series ???

You guys kill me. How fast do you guys drive? I think even my lowly 525i is okay. I can only imagine having cars with such amount of tq. the 911 is a sports car and every time i drive it, i am out of control. for DD i would need something sedated.

Agreed.

We have the 300 HP Panamera...and its so light and fast, by the time I hit the gas in sport mode for...3 seconds? I'm way over the speed limit anywhere. A touch of throttle on the 6cyl engine on the highway, and I'm in a place where the cops will stop me, fine me up to 10 000 $ and impound my car and suspend my license for a week.

I understand the boosted Turbo gives you sensation of pulling like a rocket down low...but its simply too easy to break the limit in the 6 cylinder car! If you have the means though, its all good!

What amazes me about the V6, -- it makes SO MUCH torque down low, nearly as much as my 335i, and it doesn't even use turbos!

Decided to hold off on putting down a deposit. The new 2012 BMW M5 is also due out next June - October. I'll wait to test drive both the CLS63 AMG & M5 and then assess whether I want to make a change.

The quality of my 997.1 TT is so much better than the two MB's I have had that I am looking at getting a Panamera now, and won't even consider an MB product.

Wow, so much great feedback and defense of the Panamera, that I am so glad I bought one , but away alot of great points posted on here & so many points I agreed with I would be on here forever responding to this post. My .02 cents is definitely wait and see what else is out there. I feel that the Panamera is a great car and all the gizmo's Porsche explored with this time around really did it for me, once i got behind that seat I knew I was going to leave with this car . Thanks to all the 6speeders out there I really enjoyed your feedback on this car, considering I was a little nervous about buying a 4door Porsche. Rich definitely do a lot of research before you pull the trigger on a MB or Bimmer, going from a Porsche to a MB or Bimmer usually never happens, its almost always the other way around, but whatever you decide good luck and of course post some pics

If you do choose not to get a Panamera at least get the M5.

In fact, don't bother buying a new MB or M5 because they are cheaper. Buy a used Panamera Turbo--you will certainly have a much better residual value.

I think the used PTT will be about the same as the new AMG or M5. I would go that way in a minute with the used Turbo.

The Porsche has far more personality than the other choices.

I thought and still feel my S63 was the best single car ever made but it was a bit boring to drive - although the Panamera has flaws is far more fun to drive and look at.

As far as I know the PTT has the lowest residuals of all the Panny's

Buying a USED turbo will certainly have a higher percentage resale value than any of the NEW cars we have been discussing.

Yes i belive so. PTT residual is 42% for 15k/mi 36mos.
I belive Porsche also has a cap of $149,990 for the residual..Example
if sticker is 162k they will figure the residual off the 149k so payment
is much higher.
Rich-think you should get a used PTT. I've had E60 M5 and W212 E63
I hated it..it eats gas and does not compare to PTT in handling.
I know the new models will be better and i was going to wait for F10 M5
but drove the PTT and decide to step it up. Being in SoCal i still have not
seen many Turbos at all..Maybe 2 in 3mos! To me the PTT is more exclusive then the AMG & M car.
