Lemon Law/Dealer Buy Back questions

Among with the other problems that I listed in the other thread, I am having an issue with the car that came from the factory like it is on my 2011 Panamera 4S. One was the rear well liner was cut too short and had a 2" gap to the rear fender, which they replaced and is fine. The problem that I have now is that the drivers door panel does not line up with the dash, the end of the dask is about 1/4" or more lower than the door panel. With that the side of the dash where it meets the door panel there is no gap and it rattles over bumps at speed. I have to drive with something soft (like a towel) between the door and the side of the dask or every bump I hit I hear a rattle. The top of the door panel where it meets the front corner of the window also tilts up about 1/4 of an inch. They have already replaced the door panel (because of the fact that when they removed it they cut through the leather in about 8 places trying to pry the speaker grill off.) I have had it there 3 times and went to pick it up today and was told that there is nothing they can do, that they drove it and they don't hear any rattle . They also said that they can't adjust the door panel, that they would have to get into fabrication to make it right and it's something that they do not do.

I absolutely love the car but I didn't pay $115k to have to put a towel between the door to stop a rattle from an obvious defect. It wouldnt be so bad if the car wasn't so quiet inside.

Anyone familiar on the lemon law or how the Porsche buy back works if they cant fix it?

Heres a few bad pics from the cell phone while driving the other day. They are not the best but you can get somewhat of an idea. The yellow line on the door pic it the trim line where the front of the door panel should be sitting. The pic of the dash shows about how far the the dash sits lower than the end of the door panel, it might be hard to see in that pic but its over 1/4 of an inch, closer to 1/3 of an inch.

What you will hear from them is "it's by design."

Funny, my car was then designed differently than every other Panamera....

Surprising. I have not heard of this type of fit and finish issue before. I am surprised that Porsche is not doing more about this. Have you taken this above the dealer level?

I don't know about lemon laws in Florida, but if this is just a cosmetic issue it may not be true grounds for a lemon law buyback, regardless of jurisdiction.

I contacted Porsche North America and opened a case number. They asked me to bring it to another dealer to look at before it can be escalated. Once I get the car back I will bring it to them and see what they say.

Are they saying that the window tinter screwed up the trim, because that seems like it could have been a problem?

No, they realize it was a production flaw. The tint shop never removed the door panels. They already replaced the door panel with a new one and it didn't help. They just don't know how to fix it and say they can't do anything about it.

It looks like a good experienced Porsche restorer will be more effective resolving your issue than a lawyer. Try calling these people: http://einmalig.com/ and ask if they can recommend somebody near you.
