Hmmm.

I never disclosed my age until late into the thread and besides, it makes no sense to try and show off on a forum in which half the members drive cars with much higher value than the m6.

i am getting out of school soon and need something bigger than a 2 door coupe...whats so hard to fathom here? i know of people who had a cont gt at 16 before adding a granturismo to her collection 2 years later....

edit: ps...i think this is getting ridiculous. how did we digress from the original agenda into this....

Pun,
Why do you care what other folks think about a car or you? Just send yourself an email, answer it, and then follow your advice. It seems money is no object, so why care if you make a small boo-boo? Just buy a different car.

Crap boy, you'll never get anywhere in this world if you keep asking for advice. Be decisive and live with the results.

This nonsense is a waste of time.

supercup - since you already have a TT, why go for the panamera? i don't really think you need that much power for a daily commute....3 second 0-60 seems a little excessive for something you are planning to drive from your home to your work place. i'd probably keep the cab and get the x5m. something for the weekdays and something for weekends....

the f10 m5 might be nice but i think the wait will kill me....
The wait is going to cost me some money!!!

Supercup, as an M5 owner and a 911 Turbo owner I can offer you a solid opinion; The Panamera Turbo is a great car. Find a used Pan Turbo and keep your 997tt Cab.

Like this idea as well and have been looking. Dealer told me today they may get one in shortly with very low miles. But I think I will have and X5M by then and keep the TT. Thinking get the X5M - need the bigger boot for the kids sports - just works better. If I don't like I will get M5 next August and if that doesn't do it - well the PTT will be the answer, until something else comes along! Should I just skip step 1 and 2 and go to 3???? I keep asking myself that.

After owning a long list of 911's I recently bought a Panamera 4S after much shopping and comparison. I looked hard at the 750li and the benz CLS. The Panamera backseat is actually quite roomy, you really have to sit back there to fully evaluate it. But, the bottom line is the Panamera 4S is a true drivers car, I hammer this thing like a 911 and it blows my mind every day I drive it!! I regularly throw it into a 90 degree turn at 40 mph and power slide it through, it is wicked. The best part is the Panamera 4s split personality. You can completely change the car by switching to the sport and sport plus settings. I use the basic setting with the wife, sport plus with the kids, my 5 year old loves the Launch Control!! In the end, the other cars are really just luxo cars with horsepower that exceeds the chassis, the Porsche however is an absolute true sports car front to back. You won't be disappointed! PS - i've also had a million more comments and turned heads on this 4s than my 2008 911 turbo cab. The Panam has presence on the road, you'll be sick of the x6 in a week. Must have options: Sport Chrono & Sport Exhaust.

To be honest, none of the porsche cars (besides the carrera gt) look like an exotic from the outside. i remember parking next to a r8 and a 997 s before in my m6.....no one cared for the porsche and barely anyone looked at my car. all of the attention were directed at the audi.....and no one said "how can an audi be more of a head turner than bmw and porsche"

I am sorry to beat on a dead horse, but just couldnt keep myself from posting. Here there are hundreds of X6's, mostly diesels. This is not a car that most people look at and admire. The same is true for M5's M6's, they blend in the crowd. The only reason why I would want those cars more (if they had AWD), because I dont care too much for attention.

I really dont understand who would buy M cars for their looks.

That said the Panamera, like the 911, are not the most beutiful cars in pictures (MY PERSONAL OPINNION), but they have tremendous presence live. I couldnt believe how good the Panamera looked the first time I saw it, the pictures looked mostly odd.

I think your R8 story is a good example of how rareness affects peoples interest in a car. Where I live, there are starting to be a lot of 996 and 993 Porsches around, because in a high income and car tax country, they are cheap to import. I think people didnt even notice my 997 TT. I had maybe one person come to talk to me about the car for 2 years. When I bought the Panny, I thought it would be less flashy and even posted here that I think its a stealth Porsche. WRONG! When I park, I have seen people taking pictures and young and old people come to talk to me about the car. Twice have I been asked to rev it in the lights. This after 2 months of ownership. People really like the Panamera, and so far I have only seen 3 other Panameras. They catch peoples eyes, because they are quite wide (almost Identical as an X6M), but really low and mostly because they are RARE.

I still think these are very different cars you are talking about, and if you are really considering them both, you are still not sure about what you want. Go back and ask yourself, what do I really need (like in my first post), then you will know what you really WANT.
