Took the PTT in for service this morning because I have driven it very hard since I got it back in August 2010. How hard you ask? 30,000 miles hard plus my check engine light was on! My Aston gets no love!
Overall, love it!
Con: to many gremlins for my taste which is the same reason I left MB for Lexus. I'm to busy to hang out at the dealership. Which brings me to the point of this tread.
30k service is an oil change but I had the spark plugs changed because it was recommended in the manual. Anywho, the service chick say's BTW we also have "a few campaign's that need to be performed"
WB19 Replacing Coolant Regulator (which allegedly was the cause of my check engine light)
WB21 Replacing Ignition Starter Switch
WB28 Reworking Air Conditioner Condensed Water Drain Hoses
WB40 Re-coding Instrument Cluster (This wipes out ALL your settings! Even the sport chrono clock was turned off)
When the heck was I going to get a letter telling me this needed to be done!?

Overall, love it!

None of the premium brands do service better than Lexus. I've owned 5 of them and all were reliable as hell and never gave me any trouble - got the crazy idea to jump ship a few years back and have owned a Jaguar, Mercedes, Audi and now the Porsche and I'm still amazed that none of these guys have figured out how people who buy $150K cars want to be treated. If they could drop a 600 hp engine into the LS I would be back in their dealership in a heartbeat

I so despise going in for service that I have an attitude when I walk in the door now. Never was that way at Lexus, it's so bad my wife makes me take her Cayenne in for service. Sadly, of the 2 dealerships in the Pittsburgh area they both suck, major fail.
They both have Carrera GT's in the show room, I want one and would pull the trigger but these guys suck so F'N bad I can't make myself do it. I'll probably wait and get the red one i want through another dealership just on principle.
I live in New Jersey, and I guess I am privileged, my local dealer treats me as well as my Lexus dealer. I guess it is the luck of the draw and I guess having bought 4 Porsches from them in the past couple of years does not hurt.
Baum Porsche sucks! Again, Baum Auto-Palace of Pittsburgh is by far the worst service department in the Porsche family.
So, I haven't driven my Panny since I had it serviced last Friday. I drive it yesterday (Wednesday) and after 50+ miles the RED "oil level minimum" light comes on. Fortunately, I was near a NAPA auto parts & I picked up some 0/40 Mobil One. I call the service department at BAUM PORSCHE and ask calmly what type of oil goes into the Panny. I get referred to a technician at BAUM PORSCHE who seems very surprised who then proceeds to tell me to bring my receipt for reimbursement.
Tonight, I drive the car to dinner less than 10 miles and the YELLOW "oil level minimum" light comes on. Good thing I purchased 2 quarts instead of 1!!!
The BAUM PORSCHE is closed of course. But come 1st light BAUM PORSCHE will be hearing from me.

2. Are these in numerical order? I have 28 done allready so are the previous done?
Btw does ophtho refer to ophthalmology?
As far as the clock goes, mine has ALWAYS been present on the cluster. I've never touched it. Additionally, when you go into settings you can go into LINE options and set the date & time to appear on one of 4 LINES. I hope this helps but I'm going off the top of my head. I'm not in my car. If this doesn't clear it up hit me back and I will go to my car and do it step by step.
2) Yes, numerical order. They have have never been done of my car. It does prove that Porsche is listening because I had an ignition issue several months ago, not fun!
Ophthalmology would be correct

Nothing beats The Collection in Coral Gables, FL as the worst car dealer I have ever dealt with. Horrible service, unreliable, rude people, rude salesman, useless telephone operators. But Champion Porsche was not any better and I thought it was all the same. Thankfully I was wrong. I have moved out of Florida and the dealer here in NM has been great.
Unfortunately size appears to matter when it comes to this issue, although it should not. The dealer here is much smaller. Yes, we have bought quite a few cars from them in the last couple of years but they have been great off the bet. Unless you are an NBA star or high profile figure they will treat you like %&*@ at The Collection.
Porsche should work a little harder on this. We should not expect anything less than great service from a Porsche dealer just like we expect from their cars. Unfortunately it is definitely not the case.

I rip them on the survey's they send out after service is rendered. It goes into your permanent record. I moved out of Pittsburgh last week and just like you the small local dealer here in SC has been awesome. He even told me "forget the past I will take care of you". That's how I knew there was a record of my complaints with BAUM Porsche!!!
