Well found major source of rattle noise. Drivers front door Bose speaker is not fully secure and vibrates when hit bump or uneven pavement. Looks like speaker held in with gum. Likely poor design not becoming of a 100k auto. Any one see similar problem?

 

How is it held in place, double sided tape?

 

Some kind of clips. Not securely.

 

That's interesting...my 4s driver's door started rattling bad a few months after I bought it last summer. Have not had a chance to bring it in for an evaluation yet; sounds like it's coming from the window. I have the Burmester stereo, but they probably use the same clips...

 

I too thought it was window but when I bang on the inside door panel hear rattle. When I bang on panel but simultaneously put pressure on speaker with other hand there is no rattle. Try it.

 

I played around with the speakers today; rattle seems to be gone! There are three speakers in the door; which one were you referring to?

The largest and lowest one in the low front corner of the door.

 

My co drivers side door rattled, metallic rattle. Though it was the speaker. It WAS the aluminum panel. Prws on it and it would stop. They opened it up and put somekind of fillin = rattle stopped and I was back to listening to the high pitch whistle sound...

 

I have what sounds like a metal on metal clicking or rattle in the rear drivers side door, so I hear it over my left shoulder. Its just a minor rattling, but it is annoying... The dealer can't seem to find it, but I had the same rattle noise in a Panamera loaner that they gave me while they were trying to fix the rattle in mine. Maybe I listen too closely, huh?

 

I too am having Rattles across the door panels up front. Drivers side rattle is in the speaker grill in the door trim... passenger side the bottle tray rattles... will be taking it in to the dealer day after tom to get it looked at.

Another thing which rattles occasionally is a rear cup holder lid when shut... if you keep it open it doesn't rattle.

 

Had the same thing..dealer said passenger side speaker or speaker housing was loose..but lately I'm hearing some weird rattling up front around the dash..almost like someone is tapping on the dash with fingernails. .A very sporadic tapping. .even when the radio is off

 

Strange n sad to have these petty issue On a car which I paid close to 250k USD for... (Due to great indian taxes)... I also have a 5 year old Audi q7 and no rattles till date apart from occasional sunroof one due to dust.

 

How did you get into the door panel to look at the speaker?

 

I actually hear some rattles from the behind the steering wheel column. Just got my car and without the stereo on I can faintly hear it, maybe I am listening too closely but it is definitely there. Also when my spoiler is up, it generates some rattle from car vibration. I have made an appointment with dealer on the 6th to check it out, hopefully all goes well.

Am just taking the car back from the dealership just now. Door rattles were due to a loose speaker cover which is attached to the door panel itself. It's held with plastic clips which aren't as tight anymore rattling with base from speakers. Dealer fixed it by using Porsche supplied glue type stuff which is specially for plastic filling between the clip and the panel where it locks filling the gap where plastic clips had a play.

I had spoiler rattle n noise issue as well dealer fixed that by removing the spoiler and lubing it with Porsche supplied oil or grease.

Speaker housing as mentioned in first few posts is incorrect as speaker is held on to the door using steel rivets which don't shake and if they shake can't be easily fixed at dealer as they don't have tools to press metal rivets or plastic. Nothing can be tightened with the speaker housing but those rivets are damn good and chances of them lose are very very odd.
