Guess what Carmax Offered for our 2011 Panamera?

16 months old, 13,800 miles, Yachting Blue, Turbo II rims, sport chrono, no dings or damage. MSRP $83,240, paid $79,045 (36 mo lease/10,000 miles/yr, monthly payments $1200 plus tax with zero down). Lease buyout was $65,174 (plus tax if I were to buy it).

Wife could never adjust to the poor rear and lateral visibility and never truly embraced the car. Picking up a 2013 Lexus GS 350 F Sport for her. I'm gonna miss the Panny, but getting a new car is always special.

Guess what Carmax offered.

By the way you say it, should be more than or pretty close to your buyout, otherwise it wouldn't make sense for you... I would say 62, 64...

Wow! I feel like I got a pretty good deal on my CPO Panamera base model with 8K miles. MSRP was $87K and I paid $69.9K. Sounds like the resale value is holding up pretty well.

I'm confused. It was a 36 month lease, but the car is 16 months old?

Did you make the 36 payments?

Sounds like not a good deal if car is 16 months old? Should be worth more than 36 month value. OP should be careful they are not letting it go for too cheap...

Probably around $68k. At least that's what I got for my Panamera V6 with Turbo II wheels, 7k miles, black, 36 month lease. I had 18 months to go and payoff was approximately $64500. Carmax offered $68000. Since their price is the same nationwide I assume it was around the same value.

No, lease buyout amount is less than that that since the interest stops accumulating the day you end the lease early.

If you want to buyout the lease before the lease ends, you call the titleholder and get a lease buyout amount, write them a check and then also pay sales tax on that amount.

If you trade the car in or sell it to a dealer before the lease is over, the dealer pays the lease buyout amount to the titleholder but does not have to pay sales tax. If the dealer appraises the car for more than the buyout amount, you get a check for the difference.

Brought the car back to Carmax today and accepted their offer of $71,000. Twenty minutes later they handed me a nice little check for $5826. It was a no-brainer. The GS 350 arrives by truck tomorrow.

Yes, I'll miss it, but my daily driver-a heavily modded Cayman S keeps me happy for the time being. My wife is having second thoughts now that it is gone, but she'll get over it tomorrow by that new car smell.

The new GS is gorgeous inside and the upgraded leather upholstery on the F Sport is really nice. The F Sport seats have power lumbar and moveable side bolsters and electric adjustable thigh supports. It handles unbelievably better than the last gen model and actually pulls .91 g on the skidpad. Love the 12.3 inch lcd screen with nav and radio/climate controls visible at the same time.

Got a 24 month lease for over $500 less per month than the Panamera with zero out of pocket.
