need advice

hi guys
this past week,my panny was 2 plus weeks old with 500 miles on it.pulled into a bank lot to close an account.this older woman was pulling out of a parking spot, gave her mucho room to get out.meanwhile another car pulls into the lot behind me.she is completly out of the spot, all she has to do is gor forward but no she keeps backing up.i have the horn wailing but she keeps coming right into my left bumper.i couldn`t back up because the car behing me.
she admits she is wrong to the trooper who sees the whole thing.her insurance co. is paying the whole bill.besides the hassle of getting it fixed, the car is marked now as being in an accident.
is there anything i can do with other ins.co.for ex. ask for a premium above the cost of the repairs?even though the damage wasn`t much it will devalue it when i try to sell or trade it.
any advice is very welcomed
thanks
Al

Unfortunately in Nj you will be unlikely to get anything above actual cost of repair. Sorry to hear about your accident. This is why I always take a parking space far away.

Sorry to hear about your accident. It is just incredible how some people have no clue what is going on around them, and shouldn't be driving.

I was in the same situation with a woman on a cell phone and I actually ran out of my car and banged on the trunk of her car for her to stop! Lucky I had time. Of course, she was pissed off that I had touched her car...

If you are worrying about it being listed on the carfax, I would take pics of the damage and show/provide them when selling/trading the car. If a potential buyer sees the damage was minor, it shouldnt effect your resale.

I used (am) the same way. But in the end, just a car and it will be fixed. Nobody was hurt. Try to put it in perspective.

j080808 was right on; sure it's a bummer, but compared to the horrible things that happen to people every day it's nothing. Similar to when I hit a deer last year (actually it hit me). A pain in the ***, but no way to avoid and it will be fixed.

Don't worry about it.

This is one of those things that sucks about owning & driving a high end car - and I really think insurance companies should start to compensate you for. Yes it was an accident and nobody was hurt, but in all reality when you go to trade it the dealer will ding you for 20% less or more. I was trying to sell my friend's GT2 for him, car is worth $60,000 all day long, but because it had 2 accidents on file we couldn't get more than $32,000 for it on trade - and that stinks!

Similar thing happened to me about a week ago except I wasn't there to witness it. Left my brand new PTT in a public parking garage in downtown SF and came back to see that someone had bumped into my front bumper. That person never bothered to leave me a note. Had to get my front bumper repainted

Still can't get over it... oh well.
