Hey guys, long time lurker and recent member here. I’ve been a fan of the Panny since the beginning and finally will be in the market for one soon. Can’t afford a new one but will be looking for 2012/2013 PTT or PTTs.

My question is has anyone proved the turbo vs turbo S debate with the turbo part #’s to be the same or not? Not just the recall letter.

Turbos do have different part numbers as the compressor wheel varies from standard turbo to "S".

I would say that the S besides being a more distinct kind of animal, HAS to HAVE better software mapping to account for the extra 50 horses, yes you can do it with a 3K tune and save the other $17 jelly beans BUT imagine the S with a tune, there are already 50 horses to start with.
GIAC advertises the same net power with their 93 program - Turbo or Turbo S.

Chedman13 is infamous around these parts
Reviving this great thread. I have a 2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo Executive and wondering what exactly the differences are between the Turbo and Turbo S.

Here is what I found so far:

1) Badges: engine cover, instrument cluster, front entry door guards, rear trunk - these all say "Turbo S" instead of "Turbo".

2) Engine Software - different tune.

3) Turbos - possibly different?

4) Manifold - different?

4) Plenum - this part is confusing to me. I have the regular accordion plastic plenum. The Turbo S has a metal one, and two extra connections (plastic plenum has two, metal has four). What's even more strange is that I found another "Turbo" that has the metal one. Anyone know what this is and why it's different? The metal one looks similar to the IPD one (http://www.ipdplenums.com/products/p...panamera-turbo).

Either way, I'm wondering if it is possible, and if it makes any sense to convert my Turbo to a Turbo S using OEM factory products.

Thanks.

You will get more power for less money with upgraded turbos and tune just like the ones from FVD.
