Looking to custom order a GTS.
I have a few questions for you guys.
Is PDCC a must have option on the car? Not taking it to the track.
My dealer is offering 4% off from MSRP.. Can I do any better?
This will be my first Porsche I'm very excited to join you guys.

I have PDCC on mine that I've had for a couple of weeks now. I really like it, and I especially like the PTV that comes with it.

Does that make it a "must have"? I don't know. I have 500 miles of experience with PDCC and very few miles on any PGTS without PDCC. So I don't know how it really feels to have a Panamera without it.

Certainly, though, if I were to place the order again I would definitely get the PDCC again.

4% sounds about right, but I am not one to haggle on personal purchases. I'm too impatient for that. Maybe a patient person could do better than that.

 

I ordered mine without PDCC / PTV. I just wasn't sure if it was really worth it for the type of driving the car was going to be used for and instead opted for going with a paint to sample color. I was able to score 6% off.

 

If you drive on wet/snowy road at all, Id say its a damn good option and as said above, not only because of leaning in corners, but ptv and a LSD that comes with it for better traction. Pdcc is actually one major thing that separates it from other saloons and makes it feel like a sportscar. Off course if you only drive on dry roads and put the car on its hardest setting, you probably wont see that much of a difference.

 

Absolutely, positively you must get the PDCC. No question whatsoever. I've driven with and without and the difference is staggering. Even my wife noticed it around the first onramp.

I got 5% off on the first one in OH - you should be able to do at least as well now.

 

Was fortunate enough to drive this car on the track at a Porsche Roadshow event and even road shotgun with the Pcar pro driver leading us for about 5 hot laps with him driving. I can honestly say you could feel the PDCC/PTV work to control and square the corner as he gave it input in an aggressive lap. That being said, I cannot envision a situation on the street in this car that I would need it, or frankly if I am driving that assertively on the street, I need to get off the street and on the track.

I AM HUGE FAN of this car now and want to pick up a used on in a year (already have a delivery coming next month on another P car), but if I were ordering, I would go for another creature comfort feature and/or save the money, as I doubt seriously I would track this car at a DE, etc (despite its obvious capability).

I mean dont get me wrong, this car was seriously competent on the track and felt so lithe, it was silly, and likely due to the PDCC/PTV helping. But I doubt for 95% of buyers, tracking a Panny is not a high occurrence event. If money is no object, heck yes, get it. BUt for those cost concerned, I would forego.

 

It is an unnecessary expense unless you will track it or drive it on the streets thinking you are on a track. The difference is minimal on average daily driving. I had a V6 without PDCC and before trading it for a GTS I drove a Turbo with PDCC. I did not think it was worth the difference and do not regret not ordering it.

One thing I regret not ordering though is the lane change assist. It is worth every penny.

as it comes with ptv and lsd i would think not...

 

I have mine without, coming from a Cayenne Turbo with.

I think, with the Turbo, much more of a "need" it option. It sits higher, has a higher COG, and just leans with force and direction changes more.

My GTS, which I almost always drive in Sport Plus on the lowest PASM setting, is almost exactly the same in handling. I think, without a doubt, it would be even better with PDCC/PTV, but I don't regret my decision. At the time, I didn't want to wait for a custom order. Found a GT silver example with every option I wanted, including leather interior and Burmester, that I took. Was what I was looking for.

Car is very fast, has great road presence, and corners like a beast. Definitely miss the unsprung weight advantage of my PCCBs from my CTT. However, it will definitely do for me until a couple years and a new, custom order is on the horizon.

I like the 991 without PDCC too, but the Panamera is a much bigger and heavier car, and I much prefer it with PDCC.
