Panamera with roof racks? Pics? How's the wind noise?

Anyone have experience with their Panamera and using the Porsche roof racks? How is the wind noise when they are on the car?

Hey Mile2424,

I myself do not have a roof rack although I am seriously thinking about getting one. Concerned about wind noise too, I was looking at the following combo with Aeroblades:

Thule 460R Rapid Podium Foot Pack
Thule ARB47 AeroBlade Load Bar Pair
Thule KIT3098

Let me know what you decide and I look forward to any reviews in the future.

What's making you look at the Thule options compared to the factory racks? Just curious the differences and options.

I will be looking to use the racks for my road bike and also a longboard occasionally.

I think mostly due to cost and compatibility options, I get a sense the aeroblades are quieter than the Porsche OEM. (BTW - the OEM are just rebranded thule or yakima's). It is my understanding KIT3098 should fit right into the OEM braces on the roof too. The downside is the ARB47 may stick out a bit, but may also provide more real estate than the OEM bars.

Thanks for the info! I see what you are saying and makes sense with the added real estate if needed. Let me know what route you end up going and how they work out.

I used the porsche base system as well as the bike racks. There was wind noise but not overly bothersome. Drove with them on for about 6 months until I got tired of hearing my wife complain about how ugly they were. LOL.

I personally thought it looked pretty cool though. I also realized that I'd rather put the road bike in the hatch to protect it from the elements as well as to keep someone who knows how much it's worth from wanting to steal it.

I personally prefer the OEM base system because I just think it's more attractive and a cleaner look than the Yakima/Thule branded bars. This is completely aesthetics though so you can't go wrong with whatever you choose because they all do the same thing.

Can't comment on noise because I never mounted it. But I have a new OEM Panamera roof rack transport system that I do not need. Please PM me if anyone is interested.

Roofmuny is an unknown quantity at this point

Thule roof racks, wind noise minimal, I only open sunroof up, not back due to it being louder

I've got OEM roof racks (just the base pieces) that I never used - had BIG PLANS to buy a road bike and go riding in the country - but it doesn't seem like it's meant to be. PM me if you're interested, I'd like to get them out of the garage.
